Official Harvard SCEA 2016 Applicants' Discussion Thread

Apparently, Stanford is done with the selection process! Does anyone know if the same is true for Harvard? I highly doubt it, but I thought it’d be worth asking just in case anyone has called.

"but I thought it’d be worth asking just in case anyone has called. "

Anyone willing to take one for the team? :)

Pretty sure we’re all still too paralyzed with fear/reverence for those who will ultimately hand down our fate on this matter to do anything so EARTH-SHAKINGLY RISKY. ^w^
Though didn’t we confirm on another board that it all ends on the 7th? Supposedly, apps go the finaid office in that subsequent week so that package estimates can be constructed and sent along with acceptances.

There’s another Harvard discussion thread? Could you please post a link?

If that is the case, then we have 5 days until our lives could change forever…

Stanford has historically released their EA decisions about a week ahead of schedule.

It’s been posted earlier in this thread that the full committee at Harvard meets from Nov. 30 to Dec. 7 (I think that’s the last date). So, I doubt Harvard’s releasing decision e-mails before the 15th. If I get one before the 15th, I will seriously doubt its authenticity.

296 hours, guys :3
Aaaaaaaack. Now that it’s getting so close, I’m feeling totally unprepared. For good or bad news. Lawls.

if legacies all get read by the dean of admissions, does that mean they go straight to the super-committee or whatnot?

Last night, I was talking to my friend about how awesome it would be to go to my state flagship together, and then it hit me. * No matter where I go, I’ll be happy. * I feel a lot better now. I’m actually looking forward to the 15th.

LeahSinger, where did you hear that legacies get read by the Dean?

I just joined CC today because I’ve been going crazy waiting for December 15th to come. Any ideas on how to make the time pass by more quickly?

Catch up on your sleep. Last night, I got twelve hours. TWELVE HOURS. It was so beautiful. And talk about passing time… XD

I was stalking Stanford’s thread and I’m glad that our thread isn’t full of bitter arguments and trolls! We all seem to be very calm compared to them…haha.
But I am jealous that they get to find out a week before us.
I was trying to get my mind off of all this by not coming here, but I couldn’t help myself!

I’ve thrown myself into my other applications and sleep. It actually seems to make the time pass faster.
Some of my classmates say that playing video games for 10 hours a day makes it go by a lot faster. I don’t really enjoy video games, though.

sebelius: You are my hero. I was really close to feeling the same as you do a couple of weeks ago. Like seriously I was like…hmm…I don’t NEED Harvard. Or any other school.

Unfortunately last night I had a dream that my mom read my online admission decision for me and she was like…I’m sorry honey, and I cried like a freaking baby. Fortunately the dream ended with her having discovered that she misread the letter and I was actually accepted. Then there were tears of another kind. Needless to say, worst “waking up from a dream smiling and then realizing it wasn’t real” experience ever.

Man these dreams REALLY need to stop happening.

So as far as methods of passing the time go…anyone have any good, preferably non-productive ones. I followed my friends advice and spent my nights watching every season of the Big Bang Theory…better than I thought. But now I am at a loss as to what to do. Seriously…I have run out of ways to waste time…what is this world coming to!?

bobtheboy: Not a fan of video games? Let me tell you about a little place called ~SKYRIM~ (^w^)/

^Haha, I’ve started watching the Big Bang Theory to pass the time as well. I’ve also picked up reading for fun again - I kind of stopped doing it during the school year as my schedule got busier, but I’m enjoying it a lot now that I’ve picked it up again.

Fastest way to kill time = korean dramas.

You can’t multi-task while watching them (subtitles). I found this out the hard way.

@shockstot
Can you recommend any good ones? I’ve been meaning to start watching, but I really don’t know where to begin.
