@amontobin I don’t think you’ll know if its a negative or positive until you see your decision… if nothing’s happened, it’s probably neutral.

@iluvbooks94 An email and a call seems like a lot of effort! Maybe your regional rep is really pushing for you; I don’t know I would take that as a positive if I were you.

On a related note, Harvard asked me to send in a violin supplement a few weeks ago. I thought that was strange, especially since I had already sent them a piano one… Did anyone else get that?

@mohcoh My interviewer did say there hasn’t been a Harvard acceptance north of Watertown, NY in a good 10 years. Maybe they really want to break the dry spell?

Anyone else find themselves alternating daydreaming about being getting accepted and being rejected? I feel like I need to prep myself for either decision. :P

“On a related note, Harvard asked me to send in a violin supplement a few weeks ago. I thought that was strange, especially since I had already sent them a piano one… Did anyone else get that?”

No, it’s not strange at all. Didn’t you know that all Harvard applicants are expected to play the violin?

@looshin oh ok. Gotcha. No but in all seriousness, I DO play the violin, and so is it a good thing that they asked me for a recording? I honestly don’t know what to think. Maybe I shouldn’t think anything at all and worry about something else! Hahaha

An orchestra needs a larger number of students who can play the violin to fill various violin sections, whereas they may need just several students to play the piano. Harvard’s request would seem to indicate that they already have enough piano players, but are actively seeking students who can play the violin.

Does anyone have an idea about what time the results will come out? I’ve hear the time 5pm Eastern being thrown around a little, but I think that’s probably because that’s what time Columbia told everyone.

Anyways, good luck everyone. It doesn’t seem real that we’ll know in 5 days (unless we’re deferred).

Does the admitted students page also become available at 5 that day? Because I know last year some students last year who hadn’t gotten their decisions by mail yet were checking that way.

Hey guys, what does it mean if Harvard just send me an email telling me I’ve been “accepted into the class of 2017?” Can anyone please clarify this? Do you think its a good sign?
