Does anyone know when they actually mail the decisions? Since they say that applicants will know by the 13th and some people opted to receive their decisions by mail?

^My friends are going to help me decorate the outside and inside of my house because my family’s having a big christmas party the next day, so I’ll probably be covered in tinsel by the time I go up to check my Harvard application status. If I’m not accepted, at least I’ll have a fun party to look forward to the next day and if I’m accepted (big if) then well, my friends and I will probably start screaming like banshees xD

@ilovecollege95 they start mailing out decisions around like the 12th or the 13th I believe but not sure. Emailing is on the 13th though.

Mohcoh- you have legacy?!

I wish I had something exciting to do this week. Instead I have three tests and a paper this week…

@NewYork94 Yes it’s the last week of the semester at my school…so many assessments

I don’t know if any of you guys have seen this video but it’s absolutely hilarious and also very relevant.

This is also hilarious although produced by the Princeton Tiger.

^“What about athletes? 413 spelled their names correctly. Accept them all!” lol

@NewYork94 My mom went to Harvard but we’re not donors or anything so it doesn’t really mean much.

@luv2dance I’ll be scheduling my audition for our school’s musical for around 4-5. That way I can perform well; if I audition Friday I feel like I’ll be a wreck.

glad to see some of you guys are already planning what you’ll do at 5 pm est thursday too - makes me feel less insane. i’ve figured out in my head who i’ll visit in person and who i’ll text in what order depending on whether i get accepted, deferred, or rejected. regardless, i’ll be making a visit to my mom at work…

Only like 3 people in the last 25 years have gotten into Harvard from my town. I’m the only kid who I know who’s applying. But frankly I could care less about what will happen Thursday. It doesn’t matter where you go because if you know for a fact that you’re gonna make a difference in the world, then something as trivial as a college decision won’t bother you. And if we don’t get in, harvard will be kicking themselves when we’re running the world.

I wonder why so many EA applicants get deferred. The percentages are very high compared to the other Ivy’s.

Recently noticed 2 things:

a.) I can no longer log-in to the applicant status page. Is this the case with other people!?

b.) On the applicant status page, it says: "- Early Action applicants: October 3 to December 11** **Early action applicants may request their decision via email until midnight EST on Tuesday, December 11th. All email address changes must be completed by December 11th at midnight as well. "… it used to say December 13th. Are they releasing early!?

ColdFlame, I have the same thing. I think they want to say the service with the profile is available between 3 October until 11 December.

What does this mean? Someone help!

It looks like the admissions officers have completed their decisions and are now in the process of finalizing emails. At this point the applicant status website would be pointless as decisions have been made. It is highly likely that the results will still be released on the 13th.

I was in Cambridge last Saturday night, and happened to walk by 86 Brattle Street around 9:30pm-10pm. I was very surprised to see all the lights on and the Admissions staff still at work. By now though, I think all the decisions have been made and the staff is assembling fat and thin envelopes to be mailed on Thursday.

Were there some problems with the e-mails last year? According to the 2016 SCEA Discussion Thread, it seems like some applicants received their e-mails hours later than expected?

This waiting game is just nerve-wracking! I can’t decide whether I should be hopeful, pessimistic or something else. The admission decisions seem sort of random, some applicants with SAT scores of 2400 being rejected and those with scores of 2000 accepted… The decision e-mail can’t come soon enough!

I think it’s best to feel pessimistic for Harvard. No one really knows for sure what happens behind those admission office doors. Getting a place is like winning a lucky draw, something about you just clicks in nicely with something the admission officers want that year!

I thought I couldn’t log on to the website. It happened for like 2 tries, but i tried again after like 3 minutes and now I can log in perfectly. It looks the same as it appeared any time in the past.

Wow that scared me a bit for some reason
