Official Harvard SCEA Class of 2019 Applicants Thread

@‌mindyru next Thursday as in November 13? I just got an email from my interviewer saying that she has to send in her SCEA interview write ups by November 11 so she’s trying to get me in a little bit earlier than that.

Just wondering, do all Harvard interviewers have the same deadline for their SCEA write ups? Is it also normal for them to request transcripts, test scores, and resumes beforehand?

anyone applying to astronomy or physics early ?

I’m still missing a ref… I am panicking. I will send an email to my teacher but I have no idea if she’ll have it uploaded by Monday. Am I overreacting or is being anxious about this sort of thing totally justified? Is my app screwed?!

Can someone (please please please) answer? On your portals, do you have a separate green check for your writing supplement (the optional essay)? Because mine isn´t there, even though I have already submitted it.

@12345LU‌ I’m assuming you are talking about the optional essay? If so, none of ours is shown, either, because status portal only shows required documents.

@fairyfantasy Oh, great! I was worried for no reason then. Thanks!!!

No encouraging words for me? T_T

@WooTheDay‌ Just relax. I’d call admissions and give them a heads up, though. Both times that I’ve called, asking about everything from supplemental materials to subject tests, they have been really understanding and helpful.

My interview is scheduled for this Sunday at some cafe. So excited!

Hello all!!
Never thought I would post something here. Is this too late for an introduction?
International student, but a US high school graduate. Female. Main major is Philosophy, but I’m thinking about combining it with Maths or CS.
No interviews for me because I’m hanging around in Africa for my gap year…
Harvard students (or most Ivy?) seem to have faction with those in the military don’t they? Anyone knows if it’s true that those kids in JROTC often have less priority in admissions?? Nevertheless I put ROTC on my intended activity part, I couldn’t conceal what I loved, the other one is Fencing.
Great to know you all!

@HobbiTon, Good luck w your interview.
I’ve heard that Harvard alum will send something to Harvard by 11.11 about the interview. That means mine will be on the last day. woohoo

Oooh… should I be worried that no one’s contacted me for an interview? Should I call and ask to set one up?

My interviewer said that they would like it to be done by November 17? Are you guys sure it’s by the 11th?

@masoniar, you must be right then, because 17th makes more sense. Mine will be on the 11th. I’m sure a lot of people need more time.

@masonjar‌: my interviewer said she needed her’s in by the 11th, but maybe it varies by region? I think I read somewhere that they read applications in order by region. I’m in New York btw.

my interviewer told me that she has to turn in the write ups by Nov 17th… she didnt request for any transcripts or resumes but im going to print them out and take them anyway just in case.

About the on campus interview… it will take me about 4-5 hrs to get to harvard… do you think it will be worth the trip?

@collegeapps2k14‌ I haven’t been contacted either. What are you going to do?

My interview’s on Sunday! But I spoke to some friends who are also applying, and the interviewer set up an interview in the same time at the same place for the both of us, so we’re a little confused.

Do they approach you about interviews or do you need to go find someone yourself?

I was emailed today. @ekroxx
