My guess is around 400. Most people seemed to have been released the first round. And they are calling today?
Even if they don’t call today, I hope at the very least that they make some calls this week.
has anyone reached out and asked for an update?
I know one of my friends did not make waitlist :(( and was rejected already :((
Updates to portal possibly in 20
Let’s see
Just called Admissions, they said the next day for acceptances/rejections will be Friday. They also said that Friday will not be the end, and some will remain on the list after Friday. Hope that helps. Good luck.
I’m scared !
Me too. I wish we found out today…
Hey there guys!
I’m wondering, how kind and reassuring was Harvard this year in their Waitlist decision letter? Very curious.
Can somebody send the decision letter here?
I have a friend in the college admissions profession and she said at this point, the list is very likely fewer than 250. This is speculation, of course, but it is based on her observations of past Harvard (and others) admissions and WL cycles. Again, it’s an educated guess, but a guess nonetheless. Best of luck to all.
70/250. Holy moly our odds are pretty good.
I hope it is that would be amazing
so about 20 people on here for waitlist plus i know my friend is on it as well so maybe the 250 is accurate (maybe a little more)
so if my friend who got off the waitlist May 15th but she declined the offer is it safe to say they will at least take another kid from my county?
Here is the waitlist email
Update: March 31st 2015
Dear XXXXX
I am writing to inform you that the Committee on Admissions and Financial Aid cannot at this time make a final decision on your application for a place in next year’s entering class. However, because of your outstanding achievements and promise, the Committee has voted to place your name on a waiting list of men and women for whom we hope places may become available later.
This year, more than thirty-seven thousand students applied for admission to the entering class. There were many more candidates of unusual ability and promise than we were able to admit. Of those strong applicants, the Committee has selected a group— to comprise a waiting list. The waiting list is not ranked. If spaces become available, the Committee will reconvene to reconsider all those candidates on the waiting list. Usually about two-thirds of the students offered places on the waiting list choose to remain active candidates.
The number of students to be admitted from our waiting list will depend entirely on the number of students who decline our offer of admission. That number has varied greatly from year to year. In some years, over one hundred were admitted, but at other times it has not been possible to admit anyone from the waiting list.
We recognize that you must make plans at another college while you await our final decision. Please be assured that all colleges will understand your situation and that we will proceed as quickly as possible to reach a decision. Normally, most waiting list decisions are made by the end of May and all are completed by the end of June. To help expedite this process please reply to our offer by May 1.
We hope you will decide to remain a candidate. Over the years, some of our very best students have been admitted from our waiting list.
If you decide to accept our offer of a place on the waiting list, please feel free to send additional information that would be helpful to your candidacy. If you are applying for financial aid, be assured that financial aid is fully available for students admitted from the waiting list. Please consult our website for further information.
Again, please accept our congratulations on your outstanding achievements. Whatever your decision may be, you have our best wishes for every future success.
Big news reveal
I found someone who got z listed this year! She told me she was given the offer may 25th !!!
Wow that’s incredible! Is she taking it
Yes she is !
so they did give a z list offer randomly like last year and that girl I found on Twitter got in May 29th from Australia
So weird
What does it say about harvard that 20 out of 250 of the people left on its waitlist have posted on the CC thread? LMAO
they made a list of people who are from CC that are on the waitlist and it was about 20 people
I believe there are more than 250 people left on the wait list.
the number on the wait list is either very high or very low when compared to schools like Yale and Princeton – there must be some kind of reason they don’t share that information…
