I just got in!!! Z-list, which is fantastic because I was planning to take a gap year anyway.
I know next year’s applicants will probably want as much info as possible (I know I did), so here goes: My admissions officer called me at 4:30 and left a message that she “wanted to connect.” I called back at about 4:50, and she said she had good news. Financial aid info to come in a few days. I will get the email on Friday. I’m in the Boston area.

I think my leadership positions were my initial hooks. I was Editor-in-Chief of two different publications, and I had a few other smaller leadership positions. I also was a member of the mock trial team and goalie in soccer.
My essay was about baking, which probably made me stand out a bit, since I’m a guy.
But I think that just got me on the waitlist. What got me in is four things, I think. First and foremost, my guidance counselor is incredible, constantly in touch and emphasizing I would go if accepted. She has a great relationship with Harvard. Second, I told my admissions officer I was planning to take a gap year and would love to be accepted to the z-list. Third and fourth, I was chosen as a national merit scholar and announced as valedictorian recently, which are two statistics colleges really like.

@dayes15 that sounds really cool (also awesome that you bake). I really want to go a gap year too but yesterday my gc sent my grades for our latest marking period and they were kinda horrible so I’m pretty sure I’ll get a rejection email whenever the next round comes out 
anyway what are you going to do with your gap?

I havent contacted anyone. But I think somewhere in this very long forum, someone said this will all be decided by July 1. So I am using that as our deadline
At this point, I just really want a definite answer lol. Accept me, reject me, z list me, whatever. Please just end the waiting xD
