Official Huntsman Ed Thread

To my huntsman peeps: please excuse Boca steveN's silly and misguided comments, in his youth and naive nature, he must be understandably confused!!! You see, he was born in 1988 (steev88 - note the 88) and one wouldn't expect him to understand the complex nature of this issue.

Rest assured, my post stands, and that I am Steve or Stevo and he...well he is not :)

you guys are really really mature :) I guess we have an intricate harmony of 88s and 87s. One year doesn't quite seem to make a difference though steve, stevo, steven - whatever you guys wish to be called, lol

I can't seem to post anything or as a matter of fact do anything on myspace. I can only post sth 7days after membership - so hopefully, hopefully, I'll have something up by christmas :)

well...it can never hurt to have a steve (or anyone in an intense program) with a lighter sense of humor(not to mention two..)! We will both be going by Steve or Stevo it seems, so it'll get a lil' confusing, but we're smart people, we'll figure it out :).

As for myspace, i hadn't heard about that, but i'm sure you'll get around to posting soon :)

how long should the international issues/business essay be??????

i think it's one page but I can be wrong

Bump...I just wanted to revive this old thread. Who's applying to Huntsman ED? It would be good to get to know each other!

why? personally i think its a little sad. it's fine to come to this site if you have questions and concerns or whatever, but getting to know people online is pathetic. why don't you enjoy your senior year with your friends?
sorry if this comes off sounding mean, im just a little concern for you.

No, haha, thats a good point. I'm just procastinating while I try to finish my essays...

Ruchir, I'm Huntsman-ing ED, too, and also procrastinating on finishing my essays. Thanks for reviving this thread; it actually gave me hope that people DO get accepted to the Huntsman Program. That makes me happy. Anyway, what's your target language? Where are you from? What makes you so interested in Huntsman? :)

By the way... are you the Ruchir who ran for something (I apologise for my inability to remember what... 'cept The Future is Clear, Vote for Ruchir :P) at FBLA? :) I was at nationals (won somethin' :D).

Hey Montagne! Yeah, I am actually that Ruchir, haha. I ran for National Treasurer and unfortunately lost :( but it was a great experience and I did come up with a great slogan, lol- Nice job on your win! What did you compete in?

I agree with you on this thread, it definitely gave me some hope, haha. I'm from Rhode Island and my target language is Spanish, although if I get in I may want to try Chinese or Arabic. Huntsman is amazing, because it combines the two things I am most interested in, international affairs and business! When I visited, everyone seeemed really interesting and fun, too!

How about you? What language and why are you interested in Huntsman?

I competed in Accounting I (though by no means do I want to actually become an accountant). My target language is French, but I want to try Chinese or Japanese as well, and I might do Spanish and/or Italian on the side because, well... once you know one Romance language, the rest are pretty easy. I've already taken some Spanish at a local university. I've also always been really interested in cultures and language and stuff, and FBLA really sparked my interest in business this year. I was originally not intending to apply anywhere ED (just MIT and UChicago EA) but the second I found out about this program I realized that I just HAD to apply here. It just felt perfect for me. Honestly, though, I doubt I'll get in--I don't really have much of an international angle. But it's worth a shot. :)

um...i found from this thread that targeting Chinese is extremly competitive. I am a native chinese speaker( i have lived in china for 14 years before immigration), and I got 2350 in the Oct SAT...would this set me apart?

absolutely

Here whats up. I'll be applying to ED Huntsmen next year. Target language is Japanese.

I'm in FBLA too. I was at NLC at Chicago last summer too. I place 3rd for my event.

Oh yeah, I have one question:

Does Huntsman require the SAT II for your target language? I really don't want to take the SAT II Japanese...

I'm applying to Huntsman ED too!
My target language is Chinese(lucky me)
Anyways, Friedrice, I pretty sure that Huntsman wants SAT II for you rtargeted language if the test is offered. Haha, now I'm freaking out about my SAT II test next week.
