the lady was really nice.. she said letters notifying people if they need to take the oral proficiency exam or not will be mailed shortly.. and she said a lot of people have called and theres a myth going around that the letter is a likely better but she says thats not the case and whether a student needs to take the test or not is determined on a case to case basis.. good luck!

in last year's huntsman thread, they said the only person to not receive a test and still get in is this one girl who scored extremely well on her IB test.
because the IB test is so much more comprehensive than the AP or SATs, they think that's why she got in huntsman w/o taking the test

though, truth be told, i would much rather be in huntsman (like 10 times more) than just be in wharton...idk why -.-"
i guess i just love the req. study abroad and the focus not on business, and not on international studiess, but international studies AND business

I totally agree. And yes leo.. the lady at huntsman made it pretty clear that they decide as a committee whether a student should or shouldn't take a test and how much it plays into the admissions process. She also clarified and said that getting a test does not mean you will get into the program and that not getting a test does not mean you will be rejected..

I totally agree with you kliuless. Before I had just wanted to apply to Penn.. I even told my friends.. yup yup I'm interested in business and something else with an international focus that wasn't quite international relations.. and then I found Hunstman..

i believe she said.. at latest.. 10 days before decisions are released.. so around the 4th would be the latest theyd arrive? im not quite sure if thats what she meant though..

kliu and dw: i'm totally with you guys on the whole international part. huntsman is the program that drew me to penn and made me want to apply early. i dislike how chinese is my target language thoough just because i know it's one of the more popular languages (along with spanish, if i remember correctly what someone told me).

all i can say is: BEST OF LUCK!!!!
and more importantly:
TELL US WHEN/IF YOU GET A LISTENING TEST!

Thanks for the clarification guys!!! And I totally agree with you guys...I got interested in Penn because of Huntsman...it's been my dream Program for years...but I guess I'll be happy with whatever comes along (though I'd still MUCH rather do Huntsman..hehe)

Hey guys! I can't believe that there are already 5 guys on just CC applying to Huntsman. This is like, amazing since they only pick 20 in the ED round :) .

OMG!!!! I just got the letter that I'm taking the tape proficiency test from my guidance counselor!!!!

the letter makes it sound like it's just another part of the application tho. it did not in any way shape or form sound like a likely letter....

thats pretty cool.. congrats steev.. even if it isnt a likely letter.. at least you know theyve reviewed your application.. and havent lost it or anything..

need_help, he's just basically making small talk (how he's a little bit jealous, but he wishes him the best of luck and hopes to see him at penn, talking about how he did worse on SAT than AP..etc. etc.)
