*OFFICIAL* June 2012 ACT English section discussion

ncdukie: it was definitely the plant and habitat choice, because in the next sentence or two it adressed the habitat

@NCdukie i wasn’t so sure about that either. I put yes because of habitat and all that jazzz.

Was “-LED for short-” or “, LED” NOT an acceptable alternative to “, LED,”?

@future: It’s strung, as in the led lights were strung from the ceiling

@skylimits that’s what I thought, everyone on here’s saying “sprung” though…

@yoyo I put “,LED” for that one, pretty sure I’m right.

@shiz and dukie I put no for that one, take it fwiw

Yes, what was the incorrect one for LED?

i thought i put the answer that was missing a comma for that one

i thought the incorrect answer for the LED question was diode-LED-

it was -LED-

I also put the one with the comma missing!

For the one about the volcano, I said no because it moves from the plant to the volcano. Definitely not sure though, the other one makes sense too.

^ i put yes because its about the habitat

and im pretty sure the LED one was the one with the missing comma, that answer choice would not make sense…

i’m pretty sure it was yes. it was describing the harsh habitat in which the plant grew in.

For the last paragraph with LED where one of the options was (what’s more) or something like that what did everyone get?

i think people overlooked one answer choice, there should have been a comma in one and without it it couldnt work

@bigjim2 I said what’s more

bigjim, if you’re talking about the same one I think you are, I put “to sum up”. Anyone else?

@set, yes there was one missing a comma, which would be grammatically incorrect

yes whats more…

Yeah, one of those had a pretty glaring reason it didn’t work but I can’t remember which one.
