OMG did anyone get the prompt on success . crap.

Improving paragraphs answers???

since then
before sentence ten

How many different essay prompts were there? I didn’t like the success one a whole lot…

@smartdude, i think i got since then. was that the paragraph about the dogs? i believe that was experimental

@smartdude
Do you remember any of the other answer choices? I think I may have put since then but can’t remember.

@nba

I don’t think it matters how good your examples are to an extent, but staying on topic is a must. The topic was to describe whether progressing and solving problems will yield more problems or not. I don’t think it matters if the outcomes were positive, I think it only matters if those problems solved either created more issues or not.

does ANYONE know the exact wording of my prompt? the past actions likely lead to future success or something

@satboy707

Not exact, but something along the lines of:

“does repeating the same actions that led to past success guarantee success? Use examples from literature, history, or other.”

Guarantee is way too strong of a word, I just can’t remember what they used…

is it likely? i really hope im not off topic, i used 2 examples of someone that was having success, switched, that didn’t work, and switched back, then said that the old actions that had already led to success were better than new ones

what did you guys get for the hyena writing question?

it was between which and whose for me on the hyena one, but i figured whose implies a person, so i chose which

can whose refer to hyenas?

I said whose as well. pretty sure it is right but not 100%

also even though I’ve asked already, I’m still not 100% sure

when it talked about the steel manufacturing, did you say “One was Steel manufacturing etc…” or left it as written, this was in improving paragraphs

and this might be a dumb question, but did you guys put B for number 1 on the first writing section? It was a question about a job and I actually found it rather difficult lol

yea i got B for 1 and 2 and maybe 3? idont remember lol and the hyenas i put which because it wasnt necessary to the sentence, which is why you would use “which” (<-- like that lol)

Lolpop7218: i believe the elevator question did indeed include now because it was the only one that identified people in it, i.e.“people could now move effortlessly” this reference to people was grammatically crucial because the sentence that succeeded it started with “they” if there was no identification of the subject, then ‘they’ would be ambiguous.

I dont know if tht makes sense or not

@shaydizzle so would E be the answer?

Evaulate my essay plox: (the topic’s being about past success and whether or not that was likely for future success)

I talked about the grange union’s lobbying of the government during the 1900s in the hope that it could regulate corporations. Whiile that was successful at the time, i said it proved problematic in the 1920s when the president was a very conservative pro business republican and when the country had just emerged from ww1, incredibly nativist and antiradicalist (radicals being a byword for laborers at the time) i then postulated that had the union taken a different appproach- boycotting- success would have been better.
My second third example was about moby dick/ beloved (beloved is another book)

Thoughts?

Maiden13 i cant remember sorry lol. But it was definitely the only one with a noun.

@shaydizzle

I’m assuming you took the stance that repeating past behavior does not lead to success? In which case from what I read you argument is very sound, that was clever of you to use labor unions!

Would you mind reading my post (on the last page) and seeing whether my argument is on topic enough?

yes I remember it was choice E

also if anyone knows about the manufactured steel one in my above post it’d be helpful to know cause I spent a lot of time on that one lol
