**Official June 2013 SAT II Math 2 Thread**

anyone remember what they got for the cone question? it asked about how deep it was and i had something do to with 1/2

If the answer for the matrix question was 5x4, does anyone know what letter answer that was?

I got 3.2 for that one.

Anyone think we’ll see a standard 44=< curve for do you think it’ll go down a bit to 43/42?

for the cliff on i got 21 because i think i did sin(45)=x/the distance that they gave us

what was the answer for the cone? i marked 2.00 but think that i’m wrong…

curve predictions? also pretty certain that 2.00 is correct

Oh man, I don’t know how I missed the range question… My head just wasn’t in the right place today.

i put 2 for the cone as well

and for the one that asked to identify the graph that had an inverse function? which one was it??

for the inverse it was A it was in quadrant 3 and 1 going up and it was like a curve kinda thing

For the cliff one i think i got 41 too

What was the distance between the 30 degree and 45 degree places for the cliff question?

@alexbcn A i think, you do the horizontal line test for inverses

inverse was the one that was one to one

It was the first graph that had a 1-1 function
what was the one about F(1.4) thing when F(x) = (x-1)F(x-1)
I totally shat on that problem and omitted it

perfect i also got A!
and the one witn the series:
a1=5 a2=9
the first number over 1000 was 1001,right?

Still not sold the answer to the cone is 2.00. I might have misread the question, but here’s my thinking.

Since the ratio of the height to the radius is 2:1 (we are given original height 4 and radius 2), the volume is 16pi/3. Now the volume of our new cone has to be 8pi/3, which is half of the original volume. The ratio of the new cone’s height to radius is also 2:1, so we can create a new equation:

(1/3)(pi)(r^2)(2r)=8pi/3

That eventually results in r^3=4, and the cube root of 4 is 1.6. However, it asks for the depth of the cone which is 2r so you multiply that by 2 to get 3.2

Yes, first number over 1000 is 1001. You just subtract 5 from all the answers and see which is the smallest one divisible by 4.

the F(X-1) whatever problem the answer was a- 1.08 i think

For the cliff i got 41 ft because the proportion of 1:root 3 (306090 and 45 triangle) is the same as 41:71(which accounts for the 30 ft decrease)

@Nuggers I got 3.2 too.
