Official June 4 SAT Reasoning test discussion

I can't remember what the answers were for that one, but I don't think I picked the ones you listed.

Hmm.. I beginning to think (and really hoping) that maybe the CR with the Civil Rights guy and the English royal girl was experimental. Any imput? Confirm/ shoot down..

ihatestress-

yeah I see what you are saying, but wouldn't that be more of his attitude toward SETI projects? I remember the question asking about an underlying philosophy...

everyone got the prob with the circles and a triangle in them?

and yes its experimental

it was unconditional trust:

remember how they used the example of a caveman calling out kitty to a sabre-tooth tiger? thats unconditional trust. without knowing the sabre-tooth tiger, the caveman was trusting in it fully.

don think its unconditional trust

Lightheaded, I thought long and hard about that question too; I couldn't tell whether it was referring to the individual person's view or to SETI's view. I think that it was just a terrible question. Ultimately, I chose thoughtful prudence, because I thought that it quite accurately reflected the person's view, while "unconditional trust", if the question really was getting at SETI's view, wouldn't be quite so accurate.

Grammar question: I can't remember the exact sentence, but I'll make one up to illustrate my question:

They have so changed the landscape that it is unrecognizable.

I put No Error cuz there was no other noticeable error, but "have so" was underlined and I remember from English a year or so ago that there is some rule about splitting the "have" and the "changed" with any word. However, I thought my teacher said something about this rule fading out, and I've never seen it on any list of the grammar concepts CB tests for. Any thoughts?

I said no error because otherwise I would only have one error for the entire error section and it didn't sound too bad.

So if I skipped like 6 questions in a CR or Writing Section, about how many points does that already subtract from that 800?

i think for the march test i got 6 wrong and got a 710.

How many do you think you can get wrong and still have at least a 700?

7 or 8.....

now i'm seriously worried about the thoughtful prudence v. unconditional trust question

prudence. trust me on that one

ok i will for my peace of mind

Sorry, grumpy, but thoughtful prudence did make more sense. The question was asking about the specific scientist's viewpoint and he thought the idea of broadcasting a signal could prove dangerous.

yeah i put thoughtful prudence i REALLY hope thats right

he definately did not trust the aliens thus the analogy

Was the absolute isolation answer completely stupid or did I have some reason in choosing it?
