OFFICIAL June Curves are finally HERE!

Here are the official curves:

English -
36= -0
35= -1 or -2
34= -3 or -4
33= -5
32= -6
31= -7
30= -8

Wow, a really nice English curve. Well, to the few that expected it, give yourself a pat on the back. You were right, there were some stupid questions. On number 4, the hyphen was correct. That probably threw a lot of people off.

Math -
36=-0 or -1
35=-2 or -3
34= -4 or -5
33= -6
32= -7
31= -8
30= -9 or -10

I have seen A LOT of ACT tests and this is by far the easiest curve I have ever seen. Number 44 was eight lines of symmetry. It was the most popular answer, but it was disputed.

Reading -
36= -0
35= -1
34= -2
33= impossible
32= -3
31= -4
30= -5

Well, that isn't as scary as some people thought (such as the -1 = 34 myth), but that curve was pretty darn harsh. I don't remember any popular disputed questions on this one.

Science -
36= -0
35= -1
34= -2
33= -3
32= impossible
31= -4
30= -5

This was also pretty expected. I accidentally omitted one grrrr. But I got 26, and even if I would have gotten that one right the score would not have changed. I still hate stuff like that though.

If anyone has any questions, I have the real book from June and the answers, so feel free to ask me about any question, I'd be happy to help.

Hey can you tell me how many I missed for these
Reading-27
Science-26
Math-27
Thanks!

Ah, they weren’t that bad. About the same as every other time.

but that math curve was SO generous

I like generous curves.:O

it shows that they made it too advanced.

They need to always strive for a good balance.

Not bad, go look at the SAT’s deviation. Score can drop 30 points between tests or more.

yeah, I know, but they haven’t been as crazy about their possible wild curves as ACT has been recently.

jamesjohnsonfan,

You missed 8 on reading, 14 or 15 on math, 10 on science, and if you tell me your English score I can give you how many you missed on that, too.

This goes for anyone else.

Looks about same as April’s curve. Except
Reading: 30 was -8 or -9
Math: 30 was -10
Reading: 30 was -4 wow harsh curve too
Science: 30 was -6

Seems extremely similar though.

Yeah, it was pretty similar.

How do you get official curves? From a QAS-like service?

Yes, I have the QAS. Technically, on ACT it’s called TIR.

I don’t get science, and a 32 is impossible. what does that mean. If you missed four, why didn’t you get a 32?

It means you can’t get the score, or missing one drops your score by 2 points.

It’s just a way for ACT Inc to get people lower scores to balance out the score distributions.

Where’d you get the official curves? I’m very curious. And how do you find out what things are disputed? I’m a curious koala.

I am getting the information from the Test Information Release I ordered.

Also, when I say that a question was disputed, I mean that it was disputed on one of Charlie Brown’s June ACT discussion threads here on this forum.

^ I just got it today.

Cool. I wonder what that time lapse was about.
