Okay predict mine!!
11 wrong on CR
1 left blank in math
and 2-4 wrong in writing with a 10 on the essay!!

I'm guessing like a 2190.
Then again, I don't make the tests.

does anyone remember one of the CR answers being about "a priveledged position" or something like that? maybe i could remember if someone reminded me what all of the passages were about.

yeah. I put privileged position for one of 'em.

yay!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's Celebrate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
lol

party at silverdragon's house

totally. lol

Hey my friends really bummed out cuz he thinks he did liek really bad. Personally I should be getting atleast 2250 but he got like 10 wrong on cr at most 1 omit, math 5 omit and 4 wrong and on writing prolly like 5-7 wrong and 0 omit and essay should be a 10-12. Any predictions? Thanks

if it's like that and he's aiming >2200, then he should cancel. I think that might get him barely over 2000. but then again, just my 2 cents

the one about 3000<2000+x<4000

it was 1001 right? seemed too easy.

So for the germans and italians... i understand you've argued about this but I'm not sure I agree. I totally get your math on each side, what I don't get is how you're interpreting the question. Here's the wording I remember. "There are 30 students in a language program. These students study italian, german, or both. If three more students total study german than italian and the number of students who study any one language is equal to the number who study both, then how many students study only italian?"

OK, so I got 9. I interpreted "any ONE language" as students studying either german OR italian only (one language, not multiple languages, so you can't look at both added together, need to pick ONE). In retrospect, however, I also understand the interpretation "ANY one language" meaning that the students had to study one language, and it could be either, just as long as you don't take two. I'm perfectly clear on the math, for the first interpretation you get 9 and for the second you get 6. What I don't understand is how I was possibly supposed to make that distinction on the test or how we've collectively overcome this semantical issue.

For reference, I got a 2340 in march. I missed two questions on the entire test, both math, one because i misgridded and the other because I messed up punching numbers into the calculator. I'm retaking for the perfect math score and I'll be pretty sad if i don't get it haha

Umm no I no that i got above 2250, but he just wants to get around the 2000 range. You guys think hell do it :)

max I got 6. I plugged in numbers and put it this way 3 times as many somethings is 6*3=18. So add 6 to 18 and get 24 then add another 6 to get 30 cuz two groups were the same.

wasn't it that you had to make sure it was three MORE than the other as opposed to three times the other? I understand the math behind the explanations for both sides, whichever side's interpretation is right has clearly reached the correct answer, but I don't get how the question should have been read.

Honestly that was the last question I did cuz i was skipping around and i did trial and error plugging in diff values. immediately i noticed dat 25 and 27 did not fit the scenario so they were off. Then I started with 9 and I was getting to 33 when the questions said 30 so i tried 6 and it worked.

Rssl 1001 is correct- I was like damn its easy so went back and spent 30 secs extra making sure i wasnt missing something and that was my final answer as well.

did you get the people publicly denounced for no 22 in the double passage

so racerboi what caused you to take the interpretation that led to the answer 6 over the 9? I feel like either was valid, so I'm concerned. Is there anything you see in the wording (i tried my best to reproduce it above) that I'm missing? I'm so lost haha

Here max0103. This is my logic behind the problem. Someone posted a really nice explanation but I can not find it atm.
