Sorry for any mistakes… My memory is fuzzy. I literally glanced at the booklet for about 5 seconds…

I just want to make sure that my guidance counselor is okay with me posting the info. I don’t know how “confidential” that book is supposed to be.

One of the many NM mysteries is the book with cutoff scores to which Seriwe refers. I have seen mention of this book before–some counselors and administrators have it and many others seem completely unaware of its existence. Who has it and who doesn’t is seemingly undeterminable, as is, too, the confidentiality of the information in it. It would make life easier for us all if we could have about 10 minutes with that book…

Was I the only one who received a booklet with the names of every semifinalist? Sorry I didn’t read the entire thread. But if anyone wants me to check if they’re in there, just send me a PM with your state, city, and school and I’ll tell you all the names of the students who qualified from that school.

Datnab was kind enough to confirm that my son made it in California with a 220, for everyone who is still worried about the posts that seemed to contradict each other.

So if the CA cutoff 221 or 220?
This guy who “saw the booklet” doesn’t seem very credible considering he was dead set on 221 being CA cutoff, but as soon as he saw another user report NMSF status with a 220 in California, he replied with a contradiction…

^ Raymond, are you absolutely sure? My good friend received a 215 on the PSAT and has been left wondering whether she’s going to be Commended or not for months.
