<p>I can see where the school wants to be the one to deliver the good news, because how often do they get to do that? Yet, administrations need to wake up and realize there are lots of outlets for this information and maybe people don’t want to wait for weeks to get it from them. I was at a parent mtg last week where the principal was talking about the NMSF and acting all coy and alleging she didn’t know the cutoff. :rolleyes:</p>
<p>My son was told by high school principal yesterday that he is selected as National Merit Semi-Finalist from California. His score was 224. Those of you still waiting should know by now whether you made it or not. Good Luck.</p>
<p>Made semifinalist for PA at 215. I imagine I’m right near the cutoff, judging by previous years.</p>

<p>New member here and proud father of an NMSF in Idaho.</p>
<p>I talked to NMC today about how to determine what a qualifying SAT score for advancement to NMF status is.</p>
<p>The lady I spoke with said the formula was:</p>
<p>SAT M + SAT CR + (SAT W MC * 10) >= 1960</p>
<p>Where SAT M is SAT math score, SAT CR is SAT critical reading score, and SAT W MC is the SAT writing multiple choice score.</p>
<p>Hope this helps, and congratulations to all the NMSF’s and proud parents!!!</p>
