[li] Strengths: ECs and my essays. Also my test scores were at the high end of the 50% for NYU cross-school, and more than enough for CAS.
[/li]

I think I really stood out on the supplement; I opened with an anecdote about working in the neuroscience lab and likened NYU to a brain and myself as a potential neuron, why the NYU brain was attractive to me specifically, etc.

[] Weaknesses: Being Indian but also not abused by my parents (don’t have the classic perfect SAT or ACT).
[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: What I listed in my strengths.
[li] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Deferred from Case Western Reserve University (my school is literally in their campus and everybody applies but then chooses not to go, that might be why. Also, redacting my application to Northeastern.
[/li]

[/ul]General Comments:
I remember last year at the end of my junior year reading the NYU results threads and thinking: “wow, I can’t compete.” Now, I’m the one filling this chart out!!

[ /list][ b]Reflection[ /b][ list]
[ *] Strengths: ECs maybe? My essay too.
[ *] Weaknesses: GPA definitely
[ *] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: That GPA just couldn’t do it.

[ *] State (if domestic applicant): Florida
[ *] School Type: magnet
[ *] Ethnicity: white/cuban
[ *] Gender: female

[ /list][ b]Reflection[ /b][ list]
[ *] Strengths: NYU really likes my school because it is kind of similar to them on a high school level (very artsy, academically very rigorous). Also my essay was creative tbh, and my recommendations were incredible because I chose teachers/people who really loved me.
[ *] Weaknesses: AP scores probably tbh
[ *] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I am kind of the quintessential NYU student.
[ *] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I was accepted to Tulane with a $100,000 overall merit scholarship. I didn’t apply anywhere else.

After four exhausting years of CC, I can’t believe I’m actually writing this. NYU Stern was a mere dream a year ago, but now I’m here. Good luck to all applicants! You’ll do amazing things wherever you end up!

[] Counselor Rec: He likes me so pretty good I assume!

[] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Leadership and GPA!
[] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected: Accepted to Rutgers

[/ul]General Comments: I’m still in COMPLETE SHOCK and I can’t believe I’ll be attending Stern next year!! Despite all my setbacks (cliche ECs, low GPA) I still made it. For those of you like me, who practically memorized these NYU stats threads, don’t give up! Your hard work WILL pay off, and the schools that don’t realize that don’t deserve you anyways! GOOD LUCK! NYU STERN CLASS OF 2019!!!

Hey guys i was wondering if you guys did the short responses on the NYU common app?

Guys, this is both distracting me from studying for finals and motivating me to do well on them. (current HS junior).
