*****OFFICIAL NORTHEASTERN CLASS OF 2019 REGULAR DECISION APPLICANTS*****

Does the acceptance rate count those admitted to the abroad program?

How do you find out whether you were admitted into the honors program?

For NU in program, you spend your first semester abroad. They have programs in Australia, Greece, England, Ireland, and Canada (I think that’s all of them). I think it’s really cool - I am pessimistic about my chances of getting in, but would prefer to get this option if I do. I applied to quite a few schools that allowed you to indicate a preference for these programs and did so wherever I had the opportunity.

@coll1234‌ I would think so since it counts as an acceptamce

NUin counts for admitted students, but NU technically doesn’t have to report the NUin stats to things like Princeton Review/USNWR because they are essentially transfer students and don’t get counted in those initial stats.

It would say in your admissions letter if you were admitted to Honors.

How do they justify who gets put on the waitlist? Can you still got honors or merit aid if you get placed on the waitlist.

For NU in are applicants automatically considered or did you have to apply for it?

D was accepted to College of Science after being deferred early action. 32 ACT, 4.2 GPA

I can’t take much more of this! I can’t believe the stats of some people who were not accepted. This is getting very scary!

From NJ, still haven’t heard back

Deferred/rejected 4.0 unweighted, 29 ACT - top 5% of the class. Babson here I come…

Good Luck all I wish you all the best. My D just got Denied after being deferred from EA.

@justinn76 in all likelihood, no. Honors and merit aid are for the top 10% and 25% of applicants, meaning the majority are admitted without either. If you’re waitlisted, you’re probably not the top 10% or 25%.

Very nervous!! Still no response from NY yet.

Got rejected:/ It must have been my SAT score(1700), because everything else was above Northeastern’s requirements. (Only moved to the States 3 years ago, so my English scores on SAT were lower). Do you think I still have a chance with Boston University after being rejected from Northeastern? I also need a large financial aid, and I heard Northeastern takes that into consideration, so I wonder if that also had something to do with it.

Just received my decision online today after applying via RD.

Rejected, quick overview -

Major: Computer Science
Gender: Female
Ethnicity: Asian/Pacific Islander
ACT: 34
Rank: School doesn’t rank
Unweighted GPA: 3.5 / 4.0
Weighted GPA: 4.51
AP: APUSH (4), AP Bio (4), taking AP Statistics & AP Computer Science A senior year
Essay: Excellent
Recs: Teacher rec & counselor rec both average
ECs: Very good, mostly music-related though so was not much help considering my major - also did FIRST Robotics for 4 yrs

Not too upset as it was a reach school, and it is too expensive for me to attend anyway without scholarships/aid. I also got deferred from WPI and waitlisted from RPI, so I will be waiting for those too as well. So far I’ve been accepted to RIT and am looking to go there because of a large scholarship… but we’ll see.

Good luck to all!

Waitlisted in NY.

Rejected 2030 3.7 gpa

Rejected with 2190 and 4.1 kind of rattled but had no interest in going
