Early Action deferred- anyone hear yet?

I know it's early, but top regular decision applicants have heard. When anyone hears I would greatly appreciate it if they could let us know.

I'm not expecting to hear until mid/late March, but Let me know if you hear please!

I got deferred too. I’m wondering if, since the honors kids were accepted early, we’ll get ours earlier too but I don’t know. So fingers crossed. I’ve done literally everything I can to try and get in.

I don’t think so. I was deferred as well. From last years posts I read, the kids they selected for the honors program from the RD pool were notified around this time last year too. Based on previous years posts, the rest of us should get our decisions around the 22nd of March :/

Typically, once you’ve been deferred they don’t mark your application as deferred; your app just gets tossed in the RD pile and it is reviewed with 2nd semester grades. So no, they won’t notify EA deferred applicants before RD applicants.

I think someone described deferral once as something like this: Say a school rates their applicants on a scale of 1-100, and they’ll accept 65-100 easily (just imagine). The kids who are rated, say, 61, or something borderline acceptable in EA, are deferred in case the overall average rating of the RD pool is 71 and they can take more qualified applicants. If, however, the average rating is 58 or so, the kids who were ~61 in EA will get in over kids who got 58 in RD. It really is, like they say, just a way to gauge the overall applicant pool for the year by waiting it out to see where you stand.

Good luck to you all, sadly I can relate as I’ve been deferred from 2 other schools and it’s a pretty lame feeling. Definitely still room to hope though!
