****OFFICIAL Northwestern CLASS OF 2019 Discussion Thread****

Anyone applied for WCAS for biological science?

Anyone for McCormick?

My safety is either Nebraska or Minnesota, I would MUCH rather be at Northwestern…

@goldenponyboy I applied to Medill!! Freaking out because it just has so many more opportunities than other journalism schools I have researched and its like I can’t picture myself somewhere else. I’m sure you feel the same way!

@lellywang‌ I think the argument is that if the decisions are given out on a Friday, students and parents wouldn’t have the chance to call the admission office to ask about their decisions and whatnot, because the office will be off for weekend, that makes it 12th. Anyhow, let’s not stress about the date. No matter it’s 11th or 12th, we’ll either have a horrible weekend, or a celebration lol

Why do so many ppl apply to Medill here hahah

I’m also freaking out because my school’s band is playing at a NU basketball game december 14. Right around decision time haha. I’ll either be depressed to go or happy to go lol. Best of luck to everyone who applied

@alafae‌ medill is one of the top journalism schools in the nation, and northwestern is one of the most prestigious universities out of many of the universities with the top journalism programs. it also has incredible internships and more opportunities than the other programs. When I look at other programs, as an aspiring journalist northwestern simply stands out to me, as it does to others.

@nrk0530‌ Hahha poor you, good luck for your decision then. Hope you’d be happy to go…and have a good experience before really studying there!

Yes I understand, what I meant is why most of the commenters here in this thread are applying to Medill. I’m sure Medill itself gets a lot of applications too, it’s just how proportionally larger the pool is here :P

Anyone know if they mail out rejected/differed letters earlier?

haha @alafae makes sense!! I’m surprised theres not really music or theater majors talking on this thread, as well haha!! And best of luck to you!!

I applied to Weinberg as an english major. Anyone else?

I applied to Weinberg as a psychology major.

anyone apply SESP?

weinberg for history, probably will do MMSS and econ also. Maybe geography, intl studies, mor poli sci minors

Good Luck to every one!

guys this is the most nervous moment in my life… I am an exchange student, the admission process is kinda different from yours… So i have no idea where I am at in the applicant pool

Anyone know admissions stats or requirements for applying RD as a Theatre major? My grades are very poor (at least compared to the normal NU applicant), but I am a Chicago native and have professional film, television, and theatre experience going for me. However, I was very disappointed to hear that NU doesn’t offer audition entrances, because my industry experience is all I have. Anyone care to shed some light on how the admissions process works for theatre majors?

@nrk0530‌ Thank you! Well I’m applying as a Bienen piano major. Dual Degree with school of communication :)

@Kquizzle‌ Theatre major in the School of Communication? You can do an interview to tell the alumni that, maybe write your essay on that! Grades are not everything. I have poor grades too but I’m holding my fingers crossed for my ECs to compensate.

@FailedHardAsian‌ I’m a “failed hard Asian” too. No one in my school even applied to US. Talk about isolation and no idea haha

lol dude finger crossed…
