Any advice you guys could give about improving my application would greatly appreciated. And please do not make fun of my scores as I have truly tried to improve them but this is the best I can do and I don’t think this matters much. Thanks!

Applying to School of Communication + Bienen School of Music (Dual Degree)
Pretty confident that I will get into Bienen, not much of a concern. But I’m a little worried what my school grades might do to my application to communication.

That said, I’m aware that I’m an international student on full pay, so I really have no idea what chances I will have for the top schools. YET I have the music hook…

Anyone have a guess at what day decisions will come out?

@squid97 I’m a student at NU, our finals end Dec. 12 and last year decisions came the Thursday of finals week, so probably Dec. 11 but I am not 100% sure. Good luck to all!

Good luck everyone. I’m applying from the UK, both my sisters went to NU, not applying for aid. Got a peculiar email saying good job on my ACT score… If I don’t get an acceptance then that email will annoy me for a long time

@lellywang‌ You got a full mark on ACT? Why would they send particular emails directed to people? :(

@lellywang‌ I got the same email! Hopefully they actually mean it and aren’t just trying to boost our confidence only to reject us haha

@alafae nope i just got 33
@scar1234 yeah exactly!!! haha

@lellywang Yea I got that e-mail as well. I’m pretty sure it was just another generic message that they sent out to everyone that got above a certain score. But I’m trying to convince myself that it means something lol.

I got a perfect score on the ACT and did not get any such email…

that is weird…

I’m guessing that they’ve already accepted those students who got these scores?

i received the same email… what did you guys score on it and how heavily is the act weighted in the decision do you guys think??

also, how are you guys coping with the anxiety hahaha it’s all I’ve been thinking about since I submitted my application!

Make sure you check your junk mail and search your entire inbox for “Northwestern”! It didn’t show up in my inbox so I naturally started freaking out, but then I searched for it and it showed up. I feel like it doesn’t mean much though, so don’t sweat it :)

@gkfc13‌ saaaame… I’m so nervous to get my decision and I’m actually counting down the days until Dec 15th. Last night I had a dream I got in and woke up super sad because it wasn’t real :(

yeah guys, as much as I’m hoping the email means I’ll be accepted, it’s probably just an automated message they send out. Wouldn’t worry too much if I were you :)

I wonder if they sent the email out to people who didn’t apply early…? If so, then it definitely means nothing.
