I didn’t receive that email, but I had already sent my FAFSA and CSS profile. Had you submitted the FAFSA, CSS profile before they sent you that?
^@Niiiglo
Do you mean regarding an interview? You will only receive an interview email if there are alumni in your area who have volunteered to interview prospective students.
@Niiiglo Yes, my daughter received an email last week. We had submitted the CSS and FASFA but had forgotten to do the IDOC, we just completed that tonight.
@cc200222 We submitted the FASFA and CSS as well, but received an email last week saying that financial documents were missing on the IDOC website and when we signed in it stated that Northwestern was waiting for our Tax Documents even though FASFA and CSS was completed.
In regards to interviews, does anyone know if the interviewer’s write up is added to the application status page as “complete” when the school receives it?
I didn’t get it either, and am late on a couple of iDOC things…
Hi everyone! I applied RD, can I still get an interview?
When ED notification is likely out this year? Any chance on Dec 13?
Feeling really discouraged about not getting the email that a few of you got from financial aid. Like @midcentury , we had submitted CSS and FAFSFA but not IDOC.
@Southrncrss Have you checked your spam folder? My daughter got her email last Wednesday but it was from The College Board and titled “2020-21 College Board IDOC Reminder - Your Next Step for Financial Aid”. The email itself says nothing about Northwestern. I think the email could easily be overlooked. It included login credentials and once logged in it said what was missing and the school requesting was Northwestern. I wouldn’t read too much into it at this point. Now, IDOC says that our documents were successfully submitted to the requesting school. Also, you can go ahead and complete IDOC without the email. We just totally overlooked that we had to submit that allow with FASFA and CSS.
We didn’t get an email either - but we won’t qualify for FA anyway.
@4gsmom - did you use the calculator on NU’s site? Even families over 150k can receive aid. We have a pretty high income but will have 3 in college so hope that the financial package is good. Our FASFA expected contribution is now actually what we saved for the kids in 529’s.
Thank you so much @midcentary for pasting more details and subject line!! My son got it in Oct 22.
@qqqzzz On another NU post someone mentioned that notifications were coming out on 12/13.
We did get that email - thanks for the clarification! @midcentury
And, yes, we ran MyinTuition - youngest of 4 girls, but no one else still in college and no FA money for us. It’s okay - they should give it to those who couldn’t attend without it. It’ll be a tight squeeze for us, but not impossible.
Good luck to everyone - I hope my daughter joins you all next fall!
@4gsmom Right, we didn’t qualify for FA for my oldest but the school did give her some Merit Aid which helped. NU doesn’t give merit aid so we are hoping for FA. Good news is that my other 2 (seniors) are twins, so for the next 2 years, we will have 3 in college and for the remaining 2 years we will have 2 in college. There’s finally an advantage to having twins!
Hello - my daughter got an email from Northwestern yesterday asking her to log in and
We did not even submit any financial aid documents because we’re not going to be qualified for FA, either (one child, good income). However, my daughter did get an email from NWU to submit her SSN for a 1098-T tax form and that took her to an “Admitted Student” home page with deposits due in January of 2020? That seemed odd.
Odd but that sure sounds good! @NewJeffCT
it is odd - the email came on Friday and my daughter immediately contacted the office there via email, and she got no response from them yesterday (assuming they were away on Friday for Thanksgiving) - hopefully, it’s not some technical glitch.
