Guys and gals, congrats to y’all!
One question: what is the cost of attendance for an international student at Northwestern? Official undergrad financial aid website shows it is 78k USD, while my portal says it is 86k. So, which one is true?
Accepted into the College of Arts and Sciences!
White female, SAT-1570, GPA-4.0 UW, 4.76 W
APs- Chem (5), Lang(5), Calc BC(5)
Decent extra curriculars (a lot of leadership) and good recommendations
Thank you @delynnel I see it now. Not impressed with it though.
I just checked, I got full-ride with extra money.
@saltyandpeppery On my acceptance, it said “you have been admitted to the Medill School of Journalism, Media, Integrated Marketing Communications”.
Thanks, so only the school name and not the major on the admission letter. Guess we assume admitted to the desired major within School of Communication?

Good luck to all! It is impressive to see what wonderful, qualified students are out there!
@Rubic_on57 I would go with portal, also check which line item has major difference. Health insurance can be one.
doing the math they had an acceptance rate at around 5% this year – half of other years
Don’t forget to account for yield. An incoming class of 2,000 doesn’t mean NU will accept 2,000/40,000 applicants. They must accept more because not every admitted student will end up attending.
Rejected:
1540 SAT
five 5 AP
SAT II Math Physics 800
Top 5% GPA
top 10 schools in China
EC: good competition, leadership (held forum with 60 students & government officials across nation attending), research (at UCB with publication), intern.
100% perfect Rec. (teachers like me)
Probably there’re too many Asian males applying to science major :))
rejected
see stats in comment history
only weak point of my app was race
@biearbe you got financial info with your acceptance at NU? Now I’m curious - was it posted on the portal?
Don’t say that. Making excuses for yourself helps no one. If you’re going to bring race into this, also mention your income, family background, and school district. Educational privilege manifests itself in more ways than one. I’m sure you have plenty of great college options and will succeed wherever you end up.
I JUST GOT IN to the school of education and policy!! totally didn’t expect it

@College123321123 poorest zip code in the state. one of the highest ranking but lowest funded high schools in the state.
high stats, 17 ap classes, pretty amazing ECs (i had my own research presents at the UN).
@ajowers On the acceptance, it has a link to admitted student website. Then you go on that, and there it gives you activation instructions, then your NetID and password. Then I logged into CAESAR, then I changed the password, then I checked my Financial AID on CAESAR under Financial Services. Then I clicked My Award, and then it broke it down.
@saltyandpeppery I guess so
Same here. I got full ride!
@PPofEngrDr not sure. i know a kid applied couple years ago and got in rd. we usually have several T20 acceptances (5-10/year for a class of <200)
@College123321123 im just bummed that ill probably end up at CMU (a school i disliked from the beginning but my parents made me apply) after all the insane work i put in just because of factors that i can’t control
