I cannot believe this is my first one!!! Baahh!

Decision:ACCEPTED
WCAS

STATS:

-SAT 2350 one sitting (M: 770, CR: 780, W: 800)
-SAT IIs: Math II: 790, US History: 770, Lit: 630 (That wasn’t a good day)
-ACT
-GPA: We rank out of 5.0: 5.3
-Rank: 20/728
-Other stats: NMF

SUBJECTIVE

-Essays: Good, I guess?! I reread them a few days ago in anxiety and thought them to be really labored, wordy and self-conscious, but I really liked them at the time…
-Teacher Recs: One splendid one, another good one
-Counselor Rec: Great, she knew me and could make it relatively personal
-Hook (if any): None…

LOCATION/PERSON

-State or Country: TX
-School Type: Public
-Ethnicity: Asian
-Gender: M
-Major Strength/Weakness:
Strength: Test scores, dedication to some of my ECs. I think my supplement essay, although I thought was that original, showed that I really knew what I wanted to do at Northwestern, and what I wanted from that school, not what I thought I wanted.
Weakness: That Sat II score!, save for one service project, most of ECs were pretty run of the mill, I thought (at least compared to some of you guys!)
-Why you think you were accepted/rejected/waitlisted: see strength above about my passion. I really made it clear why I wanted to major in what I wanted to (though I’m already thinking of changing that)
-Going to attend?: Maybe?! Gosh, I cannot process this. I have a hard decision ahead of me with two schools left to make decisions, one of them, which became my absolute, has to be top choice…

OTHER FACTORS

-Extra-curriculars: Pretty good, sorta, editor of newspaper, a culture club, student leadership things, good service project, volunteer work
-Comments: This is surreal because I just never thought… Like it really is hitting me that I could go off to this really different place for the next four years. And to all rejected, seriously, don’t fret. It’s a crapshoot out there and this decision doesn’t define your character. I always thought that was bullcrap but really, not to get all wisdom-y, I’ve thought about it, college is what you’re going to make of it. Think of all the influential people in the world. Maybe they went to great grad schools, but their undergrad were great state schools people don’t care to talk about, sometimes something even smaller. However, they made themselves get to where they wanted. It’s something that is making this choice so much harder!!

Anyways, enough rambling. Thank god I have no homework tonight!
