<p>Texlonghorn555 - I’ve read here and elsewhere now, that Notre Dame’s RD for 2015 will likely be mailed on Monday 3/28/11.</p>
<p>So I was a deferred EA applicant waiting for a decision like most others right now. I want to do an overnight and tour at Notre Dame, but the window I have is going to be less than two weeks after the time I get my letter (the admissions office wants at least two weeks notice to give me a host). Should I apply now as an accepted student in the event I am fortunate enough to get in (I don’t want such a presumptuous move to jeopardize any chances I may have), or wait until I know and ask the admissions office for a spot in under the two weeks they want?</p>
<p>I would apply. I don’t think your application for admission will be affected if you apply as admitted. I would just send an additional email to whatever department is in charge of the visit to make sure they know your situation. They should be very understanding.</p>
<p>Maybe you can post a request on this site to see if a current students will host you? My daughter just hosted someone a few weeks ago, and it was not arranged by ND.</p>

<p>they have a waitlist, although I’m not entirely sure how big it is and what the chances are to be accepted. I’m hoping for a waitlist right now because I know that admission is a longshot for me.</p>
<p>there always is a waitlist but it varies each year in terms of how many people come off it or not…like I think the year before me it wasn’t used but my year they went fairly deep into it…basically after they send out the admissions, it depends on your peers as to how many students come off the waitlist…</p>
<p>Just as an FYI, my daughter received her RD letter of acceptance in the mail on March 27, 2010. It took weeks, however, to get the financial aid letter. We live in Minnesota. Hope folks hear soon.</p>

<p>Former user of CC and just thought I’d share some info with you all. I am a current ND senior who works for the ND Admissions office and indeed the decision were supposed to be put in the mail towards the end of the day yesterday. I imagine you all will be hearing sometime next week. Best of luck to all!</p>
