Maybe an owl will bring our letters…doesn’t some other school do that?

You midwest guys post here when you get the mail from ND since you’ll likely get you’re decisions before us Pacific Time Zone people!

Does it make sense for ND to invite and pay for someone to attend the Reilly Weekend without that person first having received any formal admission to ND?

Yes, that’s basically a likely letter. They don’t want to give decisions early, so they instead invite people to these misc. events. This is pretty much a guarantee of acceptance, however.

does anyone know if Notre Dame sends decision through email to international students? Since it takes a lot longer for the mail to arrive?!!!

yes they do! you should receive and emailed decision around the time the letters arrive to us in the in states. then your hard copy will arrive sometime soon.

if you don’t receive a likely can you still get in? does anybody know the admittance rate for students who were deferred early action?

Does anyone know what acceptance rate was last year? looked in last year’s threads but couldn’t find an answer.

This info isn’t listed on their site. Instead, US News says its at 28.6%, so undoubtedly a little lower this year. They saw almost a 22% increase in EA apps, so expect to see a sizable rise in apps now, with a corresponding drop in acceptance rate. [Some Early Returns on Early Admission - NYTimes.com](Some Early Returns on Early Admission - The New York Times) Anyone know how many apps they got in comparison to last year?

Thanks for the info maserrano…

yes but keep in mind with the suffering economy ND’s yield rate has drastically decreased, meaning less acceptees are opting to attend. With this, they naturally have to let in more student. However, i doubt the increase in acceptance is enough to cover the increased volume of applications.
do you think us in Michigan and the midwest will receive letter tomorrow???

I think we in the Midwest will get our letters tomorrow. They sent them out Friday so the letters had all day Saturday to travel. Remember the postal service starts up again tonight at midnight; they will be traveling while we sleep!! Sleep well ;)

I live in Indianapolis, and I just got the mail. Nothing in the mail today, that probably means something’s coming tomorrow =O

Received a rejection letter from Notre Dame today. Disappointed but knew this was a reach school. Did get accepted to one of my other top schools, waiting to hear from the last one.

S received small envelope today in NY but he will not be home until this evening to open it.

Son received large white envelope in the mail today in Kansas. Won’t be home until later to open it but thru the window under his name I can see Congratulations - so I’m hopeful!!!

Just recieved the small envelope in PA–waitlisted. I thought it could go either way, and got stuck right in the middle. A few more months of waiting await, it seems!

But, how do we know which school we got accepted to? I just got my acceptance package (!) and it doesn’t say. Also, when do we get financial aid info?

Got the big envelope today! So excited to have been admitted
Didn’t think I would get in.

Good luck to all!

Can everyone please include what state they live in so we’ll all know what parts of country are receiving decisions? Thanks!
