@go12er was it missing docs or did they want additional info besides the requirements? If it was the second one, I’d say its a good sign
@northwesty @a20171 that makes more sense. Sorry if my comment came off as rude or abrasive, I didn’t intend for it to sound like that
Ya I haven’t gotten any financial aid emails from them lol
I would doubt it. Usually financial aid emails have to do with missing documents because once the financial aid deadline hits, everything is due regardless, so they than will ask for missing documents.
It’s 18:42 - anyone check the backdoor?
My d got financial aid email too and it wasn’t a missing document. They wanted an additional Notre Dame specific financial aid document completed. The IDOC was completed quite some time ago. It’s 6:42!
I think my sisters going to nd is gonna help me tremendously, but I think it depends on the individual person. My sister is finishing her senior year there, and my sister graduated two years ago, so I’ve gone up several times and met with my admissions counselor, including during my sister’s graduation two years ago. I basically had an interview then, and he gave me some tips. I think it definitely helped that I was able to sit down and show him what I already had to offer as a sophomore. I have kept in touch since then, and he remembers my family and I. I definitely think this is helping my application, and I have also been able to make my application my personal due to the involvement I have had. ND is really big on like family and community and also showing that it’s truly the place you want to go. Being a legacy of any kind certainly cannot hurt in anyway.
I was reading the EA thread and they made it seem like financial aid notifications didn’t mean anything, just the confirm.nd.edu thing that occurred 30 minutes before 6:42 on decision day. Can anyone confirm/ agree?
@pizzapie7515 I got a financial aid email and a letter in the mail and was ultimately deferred. I don’t think it’s too major. Most schools put disclaimers at the bottom stating that it does not mean acceptance.
Okay thank you!!! @lagirl2017
…where these decisions at tho…
& all this waiting makes the rejection so much more painful
^
@lagirl2017 I agree your legacy situation sounds like it should help a lot. I think ND really looks for that family connection which you clearly have. Good luck!
can decisions come out so I can have my life back lol
One more time, hehe, but does this whole financial aid email stuff mean anything? I haven’t gotten any emails about it in a while, but I did do all the documents. Are you all getting the emails? If so, What do they say?
What date do you all think the decisions are going to come out? It’s weird because of the tweet they did today like it seems they are not going to do anything this week.
I think this week since spring revisit days start next week
Not sure if financial aid emails mean anything. When older son got in 4 years ago didn’t hear from fa office until award letter went out. From what I understand ND can request additional documentation to support account balances etc at time you completed fa application. I think that can be random…I was never asked over last 4 years. Also ND is need blind…so I’m not certain at what point admissions and fa talk to one another. I would think the fa office would need to be putting information together though in some cases before a decision is final bcuz they have short window for providing award letters so families can make decisions.
Notre Dame is my first choice! Good luck comes to good people and it’s overwhelmingly obvious that every person in this thread is just that!! Life will work itself out, don’t fret!
