@lagirl2017 There are a limited number of Merit Scholarships at Notre Dame. Not sure if this link will work. If not, Google Notre Dame Merit Scholarship.
I think that because the assessment included a personality test, the rejection seems more personal but the reality is that it is just super competitive. The rejection letter implies acceptance but it is not official.
Anyone know if Mid-Year grades are required to be sent for Regular Decision?
I would say definitely send them. I think all schools want them, even if you have been admitted already EA or ED.
ND does have Merit Scholarships and a whole page dedicated to what they are. If you applied RED on-time or RD by January 1st then you are considered for all, if they pick you and need additional information then they will contact you by the end of this month. If you haven’t heard anything consider yourself out of the running for a majority of them. You also have to consider the kids who get the scholarships who decide not to go so I can’t say for CERTAIN that there isn’t any money but if you look at the page it’s pretty darn selective! Good luck.
@USPanther…how do you figure? That’s a strange statement. Why would you get an email saying your kinda in? I am confused…what did it say? And if that’s the case you better be celebrating! Congratulations!
Time goes by so fast, we are going to receive all the decisions in next 1~4weeks, wow
hey all! sorry if this has been asked before, but are there numbers as to how deferred applicants do in RD? if not, does anyone have a general idea? Thanks! Good luck everyone, really hope to go to school with everyone next year
Apologize if this has already been asked but has anyone waiting for regular decision received notification or a link to a the portal or a portal where the decisions will be announced. I read that the portal was released for REA but not sure how far in advance. Thanks
I think it’s about a week before.
yes for early action it was exactly 7 days before
@goblue8721 I applied REA and we got the email with portal information on December 7. The decisions were released on December 12 (at 6:42 EST). Good luck! Hope to see you at ND next year
Does anyone know how we will receive our admissions decisions? I got an e-mail after I submitted saying I would get more information at a later time, haven’t gotten anything else yet. Thanks in advance
@moneylove About one week prior to decisions coming out, you’ll receive a link to a portal. Then, when decisions are released, you’ll receive an email that says to check your portal.
For REA in December, the admissions portal was updated at about 6:40 pm ET. But the emails saying check the portal didn’t start coming out until about 7 pm ET and seemed to come out in batches. So there was maybe a 20-30 minute window where the decisions were available on the portal prior to the emails landing.
Go to page 15 of the EA discussion thread and you can see exactly when/how the EA decisions rolled out. Including a spirited discussion of the confirm.nd.edu “backdoor” that seemed to tip off decisions an extra 20-30 minutes earlier. YMMV.
Does anyone officially know the specific date when RD decisions come out?
@phoenixmomof2 Thank you!
is there a way for us to send awards update to ND?
I would look on the ND admissions website and find your assigned admissions counselor’s email. They might be able to help.
@phsstudent17 Thanks!
