Official Nov. Chem Test Thread

<p>I think I had around 3 CEs also. What was that lab instrument for? (the rectangular prism with the "N" on one end and the "S" on the other?</p>

<p>i think that was magnet.. wasn't it.. for iron powder..</p>

<p>That is what I thought. Was it the answer for the first 2 questions?</p>

<p>I thought the test was okay. Some hard and some not. But it's been like 4 months since I've done any Chem so idk.</p>

<p>what was the coefficient of NO3 after AgNO3 was balanced?; it was the rele long balancing question that took up about half a page :)</p>

<p>and for CH4 where a student got 20g for its mass, what was the percentage error? 25% or 4% i put 4%, but now it seems that 25% is the rite answer :(</p>

<p>i thought it was 25%, because wudnt the actual mass b 16g? then (16-20)/16 = 25%?</p>

<p>A few questions:
1) I can't remember if for the equilibrium equation with gases if it said the pressure was increased or decreased . It asked which equation would yield the most product. What did you guys put for the answer?
2) The partial pressure gas question with which of the following three would affect the partial pressure when two gases are mixed. I put all three (I wasn't sure if choice III about a possible reaction was true)
3) There was a question in the T/F section about particles from nuclear decay...alpha particles and something else, about how they penetrate or something? What was the answer? I put T, F but I had no idea.
4) That question in Part A with the lab equipment...which one was it for the separating HCl and H2 (I think that's what it was?). I put the last one of the right, but that was purely a guess.
5) There was a question where they give you the molar mass of a carbohydrate of some sort and they tell you the mass of carbon present and you're asked to determine the mass of the carbohydrate you have. I think I screwed up the arithmetic...I got 96.
6) Gas X is twice as dense as O2...was it 32x2? I got really confused...
7) Acetic acid vs. water. I put T,T CE but I think it's just T,T? </p>

<p>Anyway that's all I can think of. I wouldn't be surprised if everything I did up there is wrong.</p>

<p>1) i think it was D - that was the only one where the # of moles on the right is lower
2) i think i got that too
3) i think i got that too
4) i think i got that too
5) cant remember
6) i think i got that too
7) its T, T... the 2nd statement is not a correct explanation because only one H ionizes from the molecule</p>

<p>for 6, i thought it was 32 x sqrt(2)</p>

<p>chipmunk-no</p>

<p>molar mass=dRT/P</p>

<p>there's no square roots</p>

<p>btw, the partial pressure one i thought it was only the moles</p>

<p>ya i think your right for 1,3,4,5
what was the third condition for 2? cause i think i put only 1 and 2.
for 6. i put 2X32 , but im not sure.
and what was question 7?</p>

<p>More Questions:
1) The one with the acid with a pH between 2 and 6
2) The one where it 'neutralizes 0.2 M of HCl with the same volume
3) Anyone remember putting 'spectator ion' for one question?
4) Anyone remember the last the T/F/CE question? (i guessed and put F, F)</p>

<p>1) acetic acid? i cant remember
2) ba(oh)2?
3) no... i thought it was being reduced/oxidized
4) cant remember</p>

<p>how about the ideal gas one? the one about 22.4L , 6.02 x 10^23 molecules?</p>

<p>F, T i think</p>

<p>Just curious, how do you guys remember these specific questions? I mean, I took Math II and Chemistry, but those questions were out of my head the second I walked out of the test center.</p>
