i’ll edit the post here when i get my decision. best of luck.

I’ll edit my post here as well.

I guess I’ll do the same, even though I know I’ll be rejected haha

we should all be more positive about it!

Does anyone know exactly the decisions are supposed to come?

5pm EST. I think. Unless they want to play some kind of cruel joke and coordinate with time zones. I’m scared. But at the same time, college decision time is so overrated. We work ourselves up over it, but come May 1st when we all send in our enrollment deposits, none of us are going to care where we got denied.

I mean, unless you’re going to be hell bent on NYU forever but that’s not healthy is it?

A school is a school. NYU is definitely incredible but there are so many successful graduates out there who didn’t go, you know? If you’re determined to be successful and reap the most out of your education you’ll do it wherever you are.

Decision: Accepted to Gallatin (■■■■ I can’t believe I got in!!)

[ *] SAT I (breakdown):590 Writing, 690 Critical Reading, 670 Math

[ *] Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): Gap year?

[ *] Strengths: Essays, resume, initiated a big project, letter from Tisch Professor
[ *] Weaknesses: Scores, my SAT scores were weak in comparison, my IB grades were not that high either
[ *] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: My essay really showed how utterly desperate I was to get into Gallatin and my recommendation letters definitely, especially the one from a NYU faculty member
[ *] Where else were you accepted/waitlisted/rejected:Rejected by University of Tokyo; prior to gap year accepted to NU-Q, Hult, RPI, Pratt, Hofstra, IE University, Waseda, University of Melbourne, University of Sydney, RMIT; rejected by NYU AD.

I just want to say to people who didn’t get in, I didn’t get into NYU AD on my first year either, but I knew I wanted to get into NYU, so I took a gap year, made the efforts to improve myself and my chances. If you think this is the only place on earth for you, then keep trying you will get in, and who knows maybe you will find somewhere better during your gap year even. Sometimes school life might have screwed you up but you can make up for it with your own efforts.
