***Official Oct 2014 SAT Curve and Score Predictions (US ONLY)***

@violinn the CR section, even with a harsh curve, has always awarded an 800 for a -1.

My son-in-law thinks:
CR: Moderate curve, easier passage-based questions, but more difficult sentence completions.
Math: Moderate
Writing: Harsh curve

Usually it’s -2 for 800 on CR. Writing was slightly above avg and math was moderately difficult.

What about me?
CR: -4
Math: -1 or -2
Writing: 10 essay, and -2 or -3
thank you!!

@meaa7130‌ 760, 760-780, 750-770

Cr- 6 omitted 8-10 wrong
M- 12 omitted, 7 wrong
W- 8 essay, 3-4 wrong ?

how many can you get wrong to get a 700 in CR?

Math
-1 780
-2 760
-3 740
-4 720
-5 690

Reading
-1 800
-2 790
-3 770
-4 760
-5 740
-6 720
-7 700
-8 690

Writing
-1 790
-2 770
-3 750
-4 730
-5 720

I’ve both 780’ed and 800’ed the CR and I gotta say it was much harder than I expected. Hopefully a -3 or -2 for an 800.

@sharkshockey‌ i absolutely agree with this prediction. Math wasn’t quite as hard as everyone is saying and reading was on the easier side.

@sharkshockey‌ so average curve for all 3 tests you feel?

@sat2014 -2 790 is harsh for CR. -2 800 is common, and there has been -3 800 occasionally.

The reading curve is slightly harsh with -2 at 790 but I agree with that prediction as reading was easier than usual.

I’ve been taking the past sat’s for practice and this one was definitely easier than most of them. Writing and math was kind of easy for me even though I made mistakes, but reading was average compared to the other real sat tests.

Reading will not be -3 800. No way. -2 800 at best. -2 will likely be 790 for this test.

I thought the math was hard but it will more than likely be an average curve for math, harsh curve for CR(i scored a 460 on the really hard CR in June) and i omitted 6 and got anywhere from 8-10 wrong so it was definately easier. writing was average imo with a really crappy essay. expect an average math curve, harsh reading curve and average writing curve. Math was(MEDIUM) Reading was(EASY) and Writing was(MEDIUM)

While the reading passages were easy, I’ve never seen this much debate over the answers. I think the curve will be normal for critical reading. For math, I feel like it will be a normal curve as well. Last time it was a harsh curve because it was so easy… this time, it was DEFINITELY way harder than June. For writing, it probably will be a lenient curve.

Do you think theres any chance -2 math is 770?

There is always a ton of debate over the answers and quite honestly, some of the debated answers shouldn’t even be debated. I remember on the Jan. SAT there was a ton of debate over a question that turned out to be a level 1( my friend ordered the QAS).

Nope -2 math will be 750 or 760.

I hope its 770
