WR: -1-3 Wrong 9-11 Essay

@TheCalculator 2 wrong on the math is 710…?

Nvm can u calculate mine plz

I put arbitrary at first but changed it to timely because timely fit better imo. I feel like they both could work because It said “my parents had opened up the yellow pages a few days after we arrived and called up the first car dealership listed.” A few days after we arrived shows evidence of timely, first car dealership can also be timely and arbitrary… but idk

How do you guys know so precisely how many mistakes you made ? Is there a link with the answers somewhere ?

@meriks No, but there are a lot of discussions online, and some pretty plausible answers have kind of emerged. I think it’s a lot easier to know how you did on math though because there is literally one possible answer.

this question is highly debated so i’ll ask it here. did the kids comply with sonny’s instructions or feel the car is very roomy?

@sat2014 I chose amazed but I’m pretty sure that’s wrong, since nothing really suggests that they are surprised or astonished by the roominess; rather, their actions are in line with Sonny’s request… so I think the correct answer is the former

@sodone i picked the roominess because it described how when they entered the car, they couldn’t believe how much space the car had. that shows they were impressed with the roominess rather than just following Sonny’s request. you see my point?

Answer was that the kids were ‘happily complying’. If the answer was only ‘complying’ ,then it wouldn’t be the right answer, but the addition of "happily " made it more correct than the answer that said that the kids were amazed. The kids weren’t truly amazed. It seems like it, but in hindsight they’re not.

@sat2014 Yeah, I see your point. When I was taking the test, I thought that when the passage says “all the space we had,” the author is suggesting how amazed the kids were. In retrospect, I think I was assuming too much, which is exactly what we shouldn’t do when it comes to the SAT. I feel like both answers are arguable, but the happily complying Sonny one is definitely better because by smiling, stretching, and waving in the car, the kids are essentially doing what Sonny told them to do. We can’t really assume that they didn’t believe how much space the car had or that they were surprised by it. This is where the critical reading section really gets me. Idk though I really hope I’m wrong haha

@sodone =D> spot-on explanation

@TheCalculator Thanks You too! And thanks for the prediction as well–really hoping for that 2330. The wait is killing me, and it’s only been a day ahhh

Definitely lol. I’m anxious for my scores too , but since it’s not coming till Oct 28, I’m trying to forget about it & concentrate my energy in perfecting my college apps and essays.

@TheCalculator Ahh have fun with that. My brother is doing that as well haha. I’m a sophomore so I’m going to try to focus on school and maintaining my GPA, but since I’m probably retaking in Nov. I’m going to be really distracted by the SAT once again…

Could anyone please predict my score?
