@echelon11 I’m guessing you weren’t the only one haha but the passage never mentioned other apes. It only discussed the research that was focused on kanzi

@ Oscarlany, I specifically remember it to mention other apes but I could be wrong. What about the alternative explanation one though?

What is the Mollifying question? Also, for the “Quality Control” one, is that his ability to b) exclude…D)…desires…E) restrain…

And what about “alternative explanation?”

Echelon I remember something about “other non-human primates” but I don’t think that one was right. Was that an option?

No, the one I put was “similar abilities in other apes.”

@Echelon11 I put “similar abilities in other apes” as well.

What is the Mollifying question?
^Mollifying was the answer to the question that said, “When the girl was concerned, their answers were _____.” Not the exact question but you get the idea.

Also, for the “Quality Control” one, is that his ability to b) exclude…D)…desires…E) restrain…
The Quality Control was his ability to exclude details. It went hand in hand with the sieve image: quality control refers to how well he monitored what passed through the sieve and what didn’t; he said as time went on and the daughter became more pressing, he lost a bit of his “quality control” because he just simply couldn’t maintain that level of preciseness.

And what about “alternative explanation?”

@Echelon11: We need to put our heads together and co-author an explanation to defend our choice! haha

@A1rplanes: Completely agree. I didn’t even consider the other choice during the test. I still think we’re right.

BUT CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE OTHER ANSWER CHOICES WERE FOR the “ALTERNATIVE EXPLANATION” ONE?

Did the experiments on the ape who could talk provide major scientific implications: Yes.
What were these implications?
…That this ability might present itself in other apes. <–THAT was what the scientists feared. That explains their insufficient skepticism of human uniqueness.

Major scientific implications is TRUE but its not being specific in the least…And why would that be the answer if in the last paragraph the author keeps harping on WHAT those implications actually are?

This is a hard passage. Like most hard passages on the SAT, sometimes it comes down to two answers that are RIGHT no matter what, but one of them is BETTER. Does anyone see this?

Agree airplanes, and the discovery of an intelligent ape would hardly be major in the scientific field. But WHAT WERE THE OTHER ANSWER CHOICES FOR ALTERNATIVE EXPLANATION?

Since most of the answers were out so far…
What do you guys think about the curve?
I probably missed 5 on CR…

Do u guys remember the questions of Homer’s?
