I put “Their Eyes Were Watching God” for my favorite book. I tried lightening up by saying that my friends would describe me as “hungry” and “sarcastic.” I also said that my favorite word is “arugula,” my favorite website is “princeton.edu,” and that my favorite movie quote is “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.”

^ @karatekid666:- Nice touch with the “princeton.edu” !! What was your fav source of inspiration?? @unicameral2013 - same here, don’t read much!! Thought of putting in Harry Potter for a second, but then went with Jefferey Archers’ A Prisoner of Birth!!
And well apart from being an AWESOME school with all the meal plans(I didn’t mention this in my essay though!! damn!!) and the campus, one of the main reasons I applied was that its need blind towards Intn’l students!! :)

I’m international, and nobody from my country has been accepted by Princeton during the last few years. It’s kind of strange, but Princeton’s class of 2016 didn’t have any students from countries of the former USSR (exept Azerbaijan)…

I said my source of inspiration was Malcolm X.
But I put my favorite quote as “You go, Glen Coco!” In retrospect, that was probably a bad idea. Lol

my favourite source of inspiration was givesmehope.com
really hoping it wasn’t too cheesy
favourite book; harry potter no regrets on that one! :D

@alexis i almost used the glen coco quote too!

My favorite source of inspiration was a car crash I had when I was 9, where my landrover went off a mountain and rolled, I smashed my head open and saw horrific injuries, ribs sticking out my uncle’s skin etc. I had to climb up the mountain with my smashed head and broken left wrist in order to get help to save my aunt’s life (I succeeded!). Further to that I’ve struggled with post traumatic stress disorder up until recently. When I reflect on what I did and overcame it becomes a huge source of inspiration for me.

@Spaceduck, I love that speech! In the end, I went safe with “My faith.” Probably doesn’t stand out, but it’s the most honest answer I could come up with.

@Adodie, there’s nothing wrong with that. Being honest with yourself puts you way ahead of the others.

But yes, that speech is so inspiring. Listening to it with Hans Zimmer - Time in the background just makes me want to go out and do great things.

And these awesome words came from a comedian, of all people. Huh.

I guess everyone had fun with the short answers!!
I doubt it really counts in the admissions process. Probably, helps the admissions officers find out few characteristics of the applicant.

@Pomani – That is very brave! But just out of curiosity, did all of that fit into the space for “Source of Inspiration”??
