***Official*** PSAT 2014 Curve Prediction

Only post curve predictions for the PSAT 2014.

-9 cr 80
-1 math 70
-5 w 80

-9 for CR and -5 for Writing for 80’s? No way

Predict my score
-5 CR
-3 M
-2 or -1 W

Do I have a shot at Texas cutoff (218)?

-1 W
-3 CR
-5 Math

so confused? Are you saying -5 math = 800? He is asking for CURVE predictions.
I’m guessing -1CR = 80, -1M = 77, and -1W = 77

Math: -3
Cr: -2
W: -1

W: -1 to -3
CR: -5 to -8
M: 0

CR: -2
M: -1
W: -0/1

California cutoff is 227, will this score make it?

@SoccerGirl The cutoff will be lower than that; NMSQT doesn’t release qualifying scores until September next year. It should be somewhere between 218-225.
Wednesday curve, in terms of lost points (e.g. -5 is 4 questions wrong)
CR: 80, 80, 79, 77, 75, 74, 72, 70, 68 …
M: 80, 77, 73, 69, 67 …
W: 80, 78, 75, 73, 70, 68 …

Guys, there are two possible curves: Form W and Form S

Predictions
CR: 80, 80, 78, 77, 75, 74, 73, 71, 70, 68, 66, 64, 63, 62, 61, 60, …
M: 80, 76, 74, 73, 71, 70, …
W: 80, 80, 78, 75, 73, 71, 69, 68, 67, …

^Your reading and writing predictions are very optimistic. One example: two wrong in writing has typically ranged between 70 and 74. A 78 would be a very generous curve. I think your math prediction is reasonable.

Prediction for Wednesday (Form W) PSAT:
CR: 80, 80, 78, 76, 76, 74, 72, 71, 68, 66…
Math: 80, 76, 74, 72…
Writing: 80, 79, 77, 75, 72…

I thought the curve was set by the SAT equivalent. So for form S, this would be the Nov 2011 curves.

ooh, great point. how about form w/

Dang, the PAST is like a miasma over me. Hopefully reading CC threads will be a panacea (wink form W)

Prediction:
CR: 80 80 76 74 72 71 69…
M: 80 77 75 72 70 68 67…
W: 80 78 74 71 69 …

Hello all 2014 PSAT test takers:

You’ll note that I’m not a student, but the mother of one. My D took her PSATs in 2012 (as a 10th grader) and her PSAT/NMSQT in 2013.

I remember that it was a difficult wait until December/January when schools distribute scores, so I thought I’d help out with her raw scores and PSAT component scores from October 2012 and October 2013. In both cases, she took the Form W test.

October 2012:
CR: - 2 = 77
M: - 6 = 65
W: - 1 = 77
Total score: 219 (reported as 99th percentile on score report and would have made the 2013 NMSF cut off in our state)

October 2013:
CR: - 1 = 79
M: - 1 = 78
W: - 1 = 78
Total score: 235 (reported as 99th percentile on score report and made the 2014 NMSF cut off in our state)

The most notable fact seems to be that there is no “80” associated with a -1 from both years, though the drop in the number of scaled score points varies a bit for each wrong answer.

In any case, good luck to all of you awaiting your PSAT scores. It is best to leave it behind for now and concentrate on Junior year work, SATs and ACTs. Good luck to everyone!

Lol -1 math on the form i took last year was 75

CR 80, 80, 77, 75, 73, 72, 71, 69, 67, 65,64
M 80, 77, 74, 71, 69, 67, 65
W 80, 77, 73, 71, 69, 67, 65

My predictions for myself
CR: -4
M: -3
W: -1
Do I have a chance at MI cutoff of 210?
