*OFFICIAL PSAT THREAD 2014 (US)*

For cool, did anyone put casual.

(pi-2)/pi

I put reserved for that one

Wow so some of the CR was from a Nov 2011 SAT? My reasoning for putting jubilant because she was “excitedly” anxious.

@nmehta98‌
I put cool at first but if you read a little further it said “changed from their “condescending attitude” to…” So I changed it to reserved.

I put figurative language.

For the hexagon question did you guys get 144?

can someone explain how they got pi -2 over pi for the circle and square question? I got pi - 2, and was pretty sure that was right. Also, I put contrast not figurative language because wasn’t she contrasting her mind being like a hull of a boat, vast and somber, but at the same time saying that it is exploding with small memories all the time? And lastly, was the london one with the two lovers was it an example of analogy? And I put that the painting was to propose a marriage, since it was her in a white dress.

I put jubliant too because of the word excited

@chrysanthemum14 I put agitated i think… because she kept repeating “What will your parents say” which makes it sound as if it’s in worry. I have no idea if that’s accurate, but I clearly remember picking jubliant and then going against it because I don’t think she was happy to that extent. Jubilant is often synonymous with a feeling of triumph. I don’t think she was triumphant.

But I was on the fence between jubilant and agitated

@Ennnnn I don’t think it was 144. The longest diagonal was 48, i think… So I cut it in half to get 24 for each of the sides of the triangle, and then cut it in half or something to find the height of the triangle. I then multiplied by 6 because it was the area of the six equilateral triangles. Idk if it is accurate.

Looks like the biggest debates are about jubilant vs agitated vs exasperated and the triangle one.

After the test was over. My friend told me she put 144 but I put 192. Can’t even remember how I got that answer. 99% sure I got it wrong.

Praying that the curve on math is lenient. I probably did the worst on that than CR and W which is surprising because Math is my strongest subject and PSAT/SAT math is usually easy for me. I thought CR was the one that was going to drive me crazy.

was skepticism in the same answer with the choice of disagreement? if so i put disagreement.

Did any put an error for the the man jumped on the finding the error.

No.

Please play by the rules!

@nmehta98 I believe it had it an because it was an error in parallelism. It was supposed to be “jumps”?

what was the one that asked for the units digit given that the original 4-digit number had the units digit of 3?

Took today’s test, can anyone give me a score range?
Math: -0
CR: -1-3
Writing: -0-1

also any score/curve predictions? math was pretty hard ):
