Hey, I’m taking this next year too! The teacher who teaches this course tends to go really slow, so we don’t end up covering all the material before the ap exam. I plan on getting Barron’s (this is all you really need) and REA Crash Course.

I’m taking this course next year too as my 1 elective among 4 other AP’s and 1 Honors. Hopefully you’re right, and it’s an easy A :)

It was definitely an easy A for me this year. 100.09% first semester and 100.1% the second and I didn’t open my book once after Thanksgiving. I used what I learned in regular psychology plus some common sense to get a respectable score on reading quizzes and just paid attention in class for the tests. I’m pretty confident I got a 5, I got around 95 right on MC on practice tests. Did a little worse on most free response (it’s harder to BS your way through those, lol) but not badly enough to bring my practice tests down to a 4.

I am taking this class as well and I am very excited for it. Since this seems to be one of the easiest Ap’s out there, I hope to get a 4 or a 5 on the exam. I will be getting the Barrons review book since everyone seems to appreciate it more than any other book.

Oh man!! Never in my life have I been so excited for an AP class xD

I’ll be taking this course as well. First in my school to ever take it (online, so pretty much self study). I am exited, and I will study Barron’s as well. Good luck to everyone!

are online courses sufficient?
tons of people at my school have used APEX and it doesn’t work so i dont know where to take the online class (we have to do it at my school to get credit)

Usually, your state will have free, web-based courses. Mine is ACCESS (I live in Alabama).

You can take it at FLVS. You can also take it at UMGA (University of Miami Global Academy). The latter is more expensive though.

I took AP Psychology last year. My school didn’t offer it on campus (It was a small charter school) so I took it on FLVS (Florida Virtual School). I started in December which meant I did two semesters in the time of one.

I used The Princeton Review and 5 steps to a 5. I thought they were great equally, but The Princeton Review was easier to read.

I ended up getting a 4 which isn’t terrible but I know I could have done better if I started earlier.

The point is that FLVS offers a great AP Psychology course (I had Ms. Gibbons!). Good luck to everyone taking it this year! It’s the easier AP test ever.

Online prep materials are much easier to use in my opinion…I used Learnerator last year for AP Euro and they have AP psych up now. They’ve got tons of practice questions online. All their questions are written by teachers and I’ve been just doing a couple questions every week. It’s been pretty helpful if you are just looking for practice questions.

I would give one piece of advice. Never rely on one source, they can be very biased… Barron seems very off topic, this year got many things that have not even appeared in it!!!

So which books should i get to guarantee myself a 5?

^ Barron’s

Was it easy to take? How long did it take you to finish both courses?

Do you guys think i should wait for the 2014 AP psych book from barron’s or should i just buy the fifth edition from 2 years ago?

I got a 5 for the AP Psych. last year. I just practically memorized the Barron’s book (literally), and solved a bunch of practice questions. I think that was sufficient to get a 5 on the AP Psych.

Will the Princeton Review by sufficient to self-study? I am limited to what my public library offers, and it has Princeton and 5 Steps I believe, both of which I will be using.

Personally, I used Barron’s and I wish I would’ve bought it sooner during the school year because it is really helpful in breaking down things. I was fortunate to get a fantastic teacher and got an A both semesters in the class and a 4 on the exam. My strategy was to do everything my teacher gave us to do, every assignment, and really try to learn it. And getting closer to the test day I studied a chapter of the book a night and took the end of the chapter tests. In total I think I took 6 practice exams before the actual test. Everyone in my class that sat near me got 4s and someone got a 5. Its one of the easiest tests so don’t worry too much good luck!

Should I get Barron’s or Crash Course? I got an A in my class the first semester and I have a really good teacher, plus in terms of money and the fact that I’m taking 2-3 other exams, I don’t feel the need to have two review books. So which one is better?
