Official Questbridge National College Match 2010-2011

Thank you, gaginang. I’ll also call QB today to clarify.

@wintercake21 No, your choice of colleges do not affect your finalist status at all.

Is it worth it to do Questbridge if you aren’t the first one to go to college in your family (both my parents hold PhDs) AND you have a noncustodial parent whose income triples your household’s income when factored in? O_o

well I decided not to match, really hope I don’t regret this

Likewise. Still putting finalist on my app, though, I suppose.

yup hopefully I will have that opportunity , I will soon find out next week
the anticipation is already starting to kill me

Fingers crossed for CCers and other deserving students. Unfortunately, my HS counselor’s not enthused with QB. Our school has had finalists before, but never any matches.

Wonder how much weight QB has on our application; I’ve asked my Stanford regional admission officer in person, but was given no direct answer. Anyhow, any news from anyone else?

Will I get in trouble with Questbridge if I turn in my application for USC that is due on October 15th. It’s the first part. I’m not aware of my finalist status, just like everybody else, so I don’t know if I would get in trouble with Questbridge for turning in a different app. I didn’t rank USC for the match.

lol, do you guys get what I’m saying?

USC doesn’t have an early decision application so I think that your regular decision application to USC would be fine. If you are matched to a binding institution you would have to withdraw the USC application though.

Faxed the stuff today…

 1. Stanford
 2. Princeton
 3. Yale
 4. UPenn
 5. Columbia
 6. Chicago
 7. ND

When we contact our interviewers (certain QB schools recommend interviews), do we specify that we are doing EA or RD? I have to contact the person before the 20th of October, so I won’t know my finalist status.

How quickly did your Match Agreement Forms appear in the “My Locker” section? My counselor sent it this morning, but it hasn’t shown up yet. I’m getting a bit worried…

Does anyone know if we’re allowed to apply to in-state publics for early action? I have a scholarship deadline at the 1st of december for that school…I would obviously pick a qb school over it, but i have to apply for all the scholarships i can get for other schools…

^^my forms showed up like 5 minutes after she faxed them this morning, but every document i’ve faxed showed up super-fast.

nvm it just appeared :D

“on the common app, there are those teacher recommendation forms thats they fill out. Are those the “letters” that princeton wants? Or do they means they want seperate actual letters with the “To Whom It May Concern” statement?”

I am wondering the same thing- does anyone have an answer to this?

Also, for supplement essays and the teacher recommendations, can we recycle from questbridge or must we start anew?

For the Quest for Excellence essays, how do you know if the essays are submitted or not? I submitted one and I can still go to that page and edit it?

Also-
I faxed my ap scores today, and I have three scores of 1 on the report. Is this going to hurt my chances in any way?
My guidance counselor also sent my test scores in under the “School Profile” fax. Is this ok?

Same with me goldysocks.

do we need to interview for the colleges if we are selected as finalists?
