Official Questbridge National College Match 2010-2011

I second that request!
Still waiting:/

I was rejected, with 4.3, 2320 SAT /1590 subject, average ECs/work, fairly good recs… so bad essays i guess?

I made a topic for finalists to post their stats.

@Gnu Yorker

Wow dude I have a worse GPA, ACT, and subject tests. And I had average/below average EC’s… no work. I have no idea about my recs. You should have gotten accepted.

40-50 K income… Million dollar house in Cali though (but 1.5 Million dollars of debt…)
could that have done it?

I’m a finalist too. I’m sorry to all the people who didn’t get finalist. Crap, I seriously feel guilty now. Here were my stats for all of you:
ACT - 32
SAT - 2120 (CR 770; M 690; W660) Took it in October to hopefully raise my score
AP’s - US History, AP Human Geography and AP English Lang (All 5’s)
GPA: 3.97 or .98 (unweighted)
Rank - 9/604
Income - 25K
EC’s - Mock Trial (2nd at State in 2008-2009); Science Olympiad Regional Medals; Math Team sectional champions; Volunteer at 2 Hospitals (not at the same time) but around 400 hours.

Hope it helps all you guys. Don’t worry, any college will be happy to have you and there are better fish in the pond. Keep dreaming!

rejected.

34 ACT, 85k, 8 APs, 3.8/4.4 gpa, 75/352 rank, leadership in multiple ecs, great/good recs, unsure about essays.

I’m hoping all that kept me from being a finalist was my income. Brown ED, here I come.

At this point if I have still don’t have a reply could this mean that I submitted an incomplete application???

@Gnuyorker How do you know that your recs were “fairly good”? Did your recommenders actually show you wrote they wrote?

@gadgor You said you made a topic about QuestBridge applicant stats? Could you provide us with a link? Please and thank you. ^_^

There it is reuben.

Finalist baby!

what should i do if i haven’t heard anything back yet!?

Finalist! I just got home so I was really anxious.

Oh yeah. I forget…Woot! Finalist! Congrats to you all that got finalist status!

I’m getting really worried…I mean, I just want to know, am I a finalist or not?

finalist :slight_smile:
hallelujah

I’m so sorry for the people who got rejected. I don’t think it’s really about stats or ECs being good enough, I think it’s that a good portion of applicants have moderate incomes. I’m not sure about this, but I know my stats aren’t as great as some people here. I have alot of leadership positions and well…I’m like broke. I think income is what makes or breaks it sometimes, because some of the people that got rejected have incredible stats.

@kathryns me too. I’m really anxious…and scared.

Congrats to everyone! Don’t give up hope even if your income is on the high side-- I’m not first gen, I have 50k income, but I made it.

By the way, on the CommonApp, if you report a weighted GPA, say 4.1 or 4.3 or 4.5 or whatever, with the classes out of 4 but with advanced ones getting a +1 weighting, do you pick 4 or 5 as “GPA Scale”? It should still be 4, right?

can somebody please help me out here?! I am really anxious, it’s 8:30 PM eastern time and i have not received an email…

I am a parent and we have been waiting the whole day and still we did not get any email.
I just wish questbridge people would let us know what is going on.
