Anybody get in to the SOAR program?
I did SOAR, it was an amazing experience. Only confirmed what I already knew: Rice is the perfect fit school for me.
I heard SOAR students are almost guaranteed acceptance lol
@HaydenG That sounds like an interesting mix!
I did discover Rice. I forgot to apply for SOAR tho so I couldn’t go RIP. Other than that I have literally done everything possible to show interest. If I don’t get in a lot of time will have been lost visiting etc.
You know where it says “Thank you for applying to Rice! Use your Rice Admission portal to”, they took away one of the bullet points. There used to be 5 and now there is 4. So they updated the portal but no decisions yet
Y’all, I accidentally went to the 2020 ED thread and thought decisions were up and almost had a heart attack.
:)) That’s too funny!
Have you gotten your decision yet?! I am from Georgia and have been anticipating it, but nothing yet!
They took off the bullet point about requesting interviews, I think, which makes sense because it’s too late to do that if you’re early decision.
Yeah they did take one off. Maybe they were making space for the “See your admission decision!” today ???
Has anyone called the Rice Admissions office today? If so, what did you hear?
Today would make sense as it is the last day of the term . . .
Can someone please post on here when results are posted? Thank you!!
Gosh now I’m 100x more nervous AHHHHH
And… of course today is the day I get sick lol
I visited rice three times: once for campus tour, info session and sat through two classes, the second time I just walked through campus since I was in Houston for something else and the third time was for my interview. I also applied natural sciences (biochemistry and cell biology)
Good luck to all of you guys!
@pittsburghscribe I ultimately want to be a doctor. I chose Bioengineering as I am a Triathlete, a member of Team USA for Long-Course Worlds. In my journey to making Team USA, I have watched Ironmen level athletes take falls and get hurt on the course. One thing I have noticed universally is that none ever see it as an “end to triathlons,” but instead a detour on their journey. I chose Biblical Studies, because I find that when we end up hurt, and are facing medical decisions, we all tend to lean on our faith…whatever that is to each of us. Before going to medical school, I want to study other religions, so I can be compassionate and understanding of others beliefs outside my own.
That’s excellent @HaydenG! My husband is a physician who studied religion in undergrad as well. It sounds like you have a great future ahead of you!
HOLY CRAP. OMG. I’m low key waiting for a rejection letter…
Wait so you said that to teach us a lesson? Or they actually said they are releasing today?
