my SAT score was 1270, but I also have many other things that make me a strong applicant, though gpa is not one. My friend who goes there, she got in with a 1200 so anything is possible

I'm getting nervous about monday...... preparing for the worst (I started the other ones as well)

Where are you from, pyles?

^^^Are you in-state, do you live in Houston?......

FWIW pyles is a URM if that means anything

yes, I am OOS and URM and been through a heckuva lot.

my friend is also OOS and URM and a Gates Scholar

I applied ED and I live in Houston.
I'm so scared to get the letter&email on Monday.

If I applied for the CSS Profile,
does that mean I applied for financial aid?

I thought they didn't give yo unotification of financial aid until after you fill out the FAFSA.

did you try to login and look under financial aid requirements to see if you have a FA award letter? This is what they assume that you need based off the profile. To ensure these funds, you need to fill out the FAFSA. Go look and see if you have the letter!

I checked, and it said under the financial aid requirements was:

"Rice University administers a need-blind admission process, so your admission to Rice is not influenced by your financial background. At the same time, we have made a commitment to meet 100% of a student's financial need based on financial aid eligibility.
We strongly encourage families to apply for need-based financial aid. We can not predict who will be eligible for need-based aid or the size of the award without a complete financial aid file, but we do know you will not be considered for any need-based aid if you do not apply. Families completing the required forms by the deadlines posted on our website will be given information about their financial aid package at or shortly after the time of admission.

Please contact the Office of Financial Aid at fina@rice.edu to check on your financial aid application status. "

=/

I hate to be the one to say it. But that probably (not absolute) means you were either deferred or rejected. So far, most of us have a FA Award letter that either says you are ineligible for aid or congratulations and talks about aid.

soniya check the links below the text you just quoted entered, do you see FA Award Letter?

Nope.. nothing.

This is so nervewrecking...

Ugh not knowing this FA Letter business would be less nerve wrecking than finding out Monday! I'm so glad i don't have to spend all day tomorrow thinking about it.

Omg decisions are out officially!!!!

Post up your stats on the ed thread guys!

OMG I GOT IN ALSO!!

Pyles i love you man... we went through this together for the most part bro

I know!!! I'm so happy for us both. It will be really cool to meet each other there. Oh God, I'm so excited!!! It is surreal. I almost cannot believe it.

I KNOW EXACTLY HOW YOU FEEL!!

I am still going crazy. Just posted it up on facebook and also emailed my interviewer to tell him the great news!

SOOOOO EXCITED

Is anybody's page not loading?

After I fill out the rating and comment thing. It just takes me to a blank page.
