Official Sat I Discussion January 2005

mekrob I know, that's why I said one of the main (30min) math sections should've been the experimental, I don't see how tho, waterlilly could not have had those passages about NASA and N.A novels

no the answer was more than 8 because there were infinty planes going all around that went thru point v, split it in half, and was perpendicular to the base.

I know that there was two different versions (neither experimental) of the last 15min math section. Does that mean the rest of the test had two versions also?

for the pyramid, 5 was the surface area. right?

I think we may have had different tests...

yes there were differnet tests

poor me, i have to wait a few weeks to take the SAT because we got snowed out :(

Unintelligible:speech is right.

Thats not right for the second one though, I forget what I put, but it made sense.

There was a sentence completion about the local government being bad. was it vilify or impetuous?

captain acid, where do u live?

anyone have answers to the following?

the S/t= w/x= y/n =10 or something like that

Celebrity::limelight

the pyramid one where they tell u the surface area, and area of base and u had to find the height of one of the triangles that make up a side

unctuous:: earnestness

Is there no point in discussing this then? Since so little people took the test, everyone has a different version.

I did not have the problem about conditionals, so that must be the experimental. I did have the other problem...i think the answer was 2. So, my experimental was the very first section.

if ur talking about the one that had to go thru point v and was perpendicular to the base, yea because it doesn't matter in which direction the plane was facing so it could be in all directions hence infinity

Infinite planes wasnt even a choice, was it? I went with 8 because it made sense.

in the pyramid tho, there were only 4, here, draw the pyramid wit the 4 triangles upon a base. the only straight planes that split the pyramid's volume in half (perpendicular to the square base) would be two that connected the four edges of the figure, and another 2 would come from the two planes that connects the altitudes of the four triangular sides.
I don't really see what you mean by an infinity, plz help me to understand cuz I might wanna cancel this test.

the local gvt one was "venality" (means: able to be bought) because they were corrupt.

i got 2 for the pyramid one. the area of the square was 1. and the area of the 4 triangles had to be 4.

the limelight one was confusing too, I put mentor:guidance, but I'm wrong, since limelight is the focus of attention, and therefore, for a bridge:
a star is in limelight
but a mentor is in guidance is wrong
I Think it is
Outcast is in exile

Jeez, Testmaster's list was right on for both these tests!

NOTE TO ALL: There were two different tests. So make note not to get upset if there is a question discussed if you didn't receive that one on your test. Calm down.
