OFFICIAL SAT II Literature: Dec 3

So, what did everyone think?

Is the curve real bad for the test?

Anyone else think the passage about the senator was a tad odd?

I bombed it...left like 15 blank and guessed on a bunch - i'm cancelling

That poem about the bowls of pink carnations or whatever was confusing to me... I'm not sure about the curve but was wondering myself

The senator story didn't seem too bad to me.. odd yes haha.. but who knows

Ah, I wish I had that option but I think its the last date for me to get them in.

okay for the carnations one what did the refrences to the world represent?

My answer: detailing of what the flowers represent
Debated: the metaphors for abstract something answer

bumb bump... very worried...........

rmellow...January doesnt reach RD schools?

i agree: detailing the flowers

goyoungha: thank you! Im hoping for a 750+ and would like to know if i need to change my priorities...

Hmm what else comes to mind? i left three blank... ??

3 blank..i left 13 rofl...i must be a moron or something

parikhs: im sure you'll end up winning when i have to subtract 13 X 1/4 from my total score... :/

nah..cuz i guessed on a lot too...hmm this choice looks good lemme pick it .. lol it was a total gamble and only reason I took it is cuz I need 2 tests for some schools...now I have to cancel grrrrr...does January reach RD schools in time for evaluation?

yeah from what i hear hyps accept it: for penn retakes only... so i wouldnt cancel in case other schools have similar policies

any guesses on the curve? relative to the one posted in the real sat II book?

I'm not applying to Ivies..just BC, BU, UVA are the only ones of my schools that require it...but I'm taking ACT's next sat so if I do well i can submit it instead of SATs...but if I don't ima have to retake so I want to know if it'll reach in time for those schools.

goyoungha: i dont think the curve will work in our favor... its an easier test from what i hear

Nope, I believe it was it was a metaphor for an abtrasct idea. This was because the poem's premise was that life can't be so simple and idealistic (like the bowl of carnations), and that's why the second stanza elaborated on the bowl and the carnations (not just for detail). Of course this is just my opinion, but I'm fairly certain on this one.

MY QUESTION: What did people put on the last passage about the attitudes of the newly wed husband and wife? For the wife I put despair, and for the husband I put self-pity, but I am very unsure on this.

GeorgeS, I had the same three answers as you (the carnations, the wife's despair, and the husband's self-pity)

For anyone, I was wondering about what Annie Johnson felt when she was in the hole and gravity was working for/against her. I believe I had something about her losing her sense of control.

I also have those same 3 answers as GeorgeS...
And the same answer for the Annie Johnson question as Trekker14.
But on the other husband and wife passage, what did everyone put for the meaning of the wife's "fall"? I wasn't sure...adultery?

I put adultery..and had all those answers up above..not sure if I had Trekker's answer - but it doesn't matter cuz I had 13-15 blank..a whole passage
