Official SAT March 10 Math Discussion

Hmm. I don't know.... Maybe I got this one wrong..

How much do you think -2 will cost me this time?

For the cube, it was definitely a 30-60-90

Which angle did they ask for? I think I found the wrong angle and put 30. GRARG!

It was the angle closest to you in the shape if it was to actually be 3D. I can't really explain.

-2... If -1 = 780, -2 could be a 760 =]

You had the sides kroot3/2, k/2, and k...was the angle we were supposed to find the one between k/2 and k?

Also, was that in the section with which last question -> the probabability with 6 numbers, the ABC and which isn't true question, or the (3,5) question (the 20 minute one)?

um, the xy question, the answer was III only, was that choice C????????

yes tiiiohklk

consolidated answers: (add if needed)

6
12

6000
A for the box thingy
B for the map
60
III only
four dots reflected y=x
(3,5)
b=6
88
1/16a^2
4:5 ratio of y:z
x=4 for the parabola tangent to the x-axis

chickenboi:

I had all those numbers except I don't remember what the question for the ans "18" was. Care to type it?

Also, I'm now so confused about the 6000 vs 3000 because I thought for sure that it was 3000 since I read the question as "what volume does X have"... except there's many mixed restatements of this question on this forum... ah!!

^^ sorry, i repeated 18. it was for the trapezoid

I know... I got 3000 probably. I seriously thought that it was 1/2X. UGH! I'll just assume I got it wrong...

This is gonna be a stupid question but here it goes:

it was like what was the union of two sets of numbers,
i know for sure that it was like eihter:

a. (0,1,2,3,4,5)
b. (1,2,3,4,5)

is said union of even and odds, IS ZERO EVEN?? Cuz i put A

please correct me if the question has been worded wrong

what was the 60 and 10/3 for?the question?

I just wish there's someone out there who knows for SURE if it stated "whats the volume IN X" or "whats the CAPACITY of x" (wording off)! It's really bugging me. =(

zero is even

^^ is that the one where its even positive integers less than five and odd positive integers less that five?

omarr:

0 is even, I didn't know that before until I read it in every single SAT prep book.

Also, it was {0,1,2,3,4}. there isnt a 5 and I'm pretty sure it wasn't A... was it B?

"He could have sworn that the one where you reflect the points over y=x was ACTUALLY reflecting over the x-axis, in which case it would be "None" instead of "Four.""

i dont get why people on here have been thinkin it was over the x axis
Y=x is not an axis, its a freakin linear function (and to the guy who posted the above quote, u dont need to reply, cause i know u said it was ur friend who said that^^^)

zero is neither positive nor negative. says so in the barron's SAT book

i thought it was an empty set

? I was replying to someone else who said that.
