Official SAT Math IIc October Discussion

I omitted 4:

What do you guys think is the maximum I can get wrong with the 4 omiited and still get:

800?
750?
700?

http://www.sparknotes.com/testprep/books/sat2/math2c/chapter2section4.rhtml

Use that to estimate.

what did you guys get for the last question
the possibility one with 0.4 and 0.6
is it "A"???
and for rosa juan and pedro question, is the answer E??

Rosa queston was like (B) or something. It was between the 2 people's scores.
Neonblue, what did you get for the similar triangles? Someone said 4/5 and someone else said 3/5. Which was it?

i dont remember that triangle one exactly
but i remember using the similar triangle theory to find the missing length
and i used costheta = adj/opposite

this test is actually pretty easy so im scared the curve is not gonna be generous
but i think i made soo many stupid mistakes
the more i thikn about it the worse i think i did =[ lol i already registered for nov in case i fail this one though. But i feel its gonna be such a waste if i ddint do good on this one because people say this is the easiest one so far!

for the heartbeat one,
if it was 120+sin(2pix-1) then the answer is 368.
if it was 120+sin(2x-1) then the answer is 120. what i put.

anyone remember EXACTLY??

Can someone explain to me how the one where you use the law of cosines to get the angle is 56.4? I fail to see how it isn't 33.4 unless I'm inputting the wrong numbers. It is (5^2) = (9^2) + (7^2) - (297)(cos x), correct?

Which question is that? Elaborate?

[quote]
Yes it asked for cosA which one the big triangle was 3/5 and on the small triangle was 2/ (5 * (2/3), which is the ratio. Either way you get 3/5, because similar tiangles have the same angles

Please tell me he's right... I know this question was really easy, but for some reason I'm panicking that I did something RETARDED.

anyone remember any more hard ones?

It was the one where they gave you that the sides of triangle RST had sides of 5, 7 and 9 and you needed to find one of the angles. If that doesn't jog your memory then you just don't remember.

the last one with .4 and .6
will someone please tell me what they put??
A OR E?

Similar triangles one anyone?

Are you sure the sides of the triangle were 5-7-9? I didn't get 33.4... I don't think other people did either.

Unless someone wants to give another set of sides that everyone agrees upon was correct and results in an answer of 56.4, I'll trust my reading comprehension abilities and maintain that it was 5-7-9.

I think the last problem was E. and I'm still confused on the heart one.

Wait, where did you get the impression that it was 56.4? I searched the thread to see whether anyone has said that... but I didn't find anything about 56.4

i think it wasa 50.7 or something like that.... 5-7-9 were the right measurments and 7 was the side opposite of the angle you were looking forr

I'm pretty sure the heart one is 60, because you can't just plug into the equation - the equation measures blood pressure, not heartbeat.

3/5 or 4/5 for triangles...? =] please?
