@Mango920452 That’s what I put as well. It was asking how it related to principles of the Republican party or something like that.
I put what @yesyesyes1 said.
I dont remember what I put for Red Scare.
What about the difference between the Chesapeake and New England colonies?
I put higher life expectancy in New England. Feel pretty good about that. @5czar66
I said the life expectancy. Some people said the male-to-female ratio, but it said that the male-to-female ratio was higher in the New England colonies, which is incorrect.
life expectancy was higher in NE
I said life expectancy.
Since NE was about settlement/religion and the chesapeake was about profit, there would be more women in NE.
I thought it was talking about the gender ratio overall. If it specifically said male to female, then life expectancy would be correct
what was the answer to the LIFE magazine Cover? Can anyone find it?
I said it was about women having domestic responsibilities after the war but idk.
I think the Republican Party and homestead act one wasnt land to speculators but the free soil thing since republican part platform was avoiding slavery extension and free soilers were antislavery as well
good, thats what I put…
For the Life magazine, I put the answer choice about consumerism cause it had like 20 of everything all over the floor and it looked wasteful to me, but idk.
Life magazine was domestic responsibilities
I said domestic responsibilities as well
Do you remember the actual answer choice for consumerism on the LIFE one tho?
The thing that threw me off was that the Free Soil Party was its own party, and it wasnt about ending slavery, just creating a white west. So Free Soil contradicted free men.
So idk I went with land speculation because it fit the republican party economically.
it was rice
I forget the exact wording for the questions so I could easily be wrong, but it is true that speculators took advantage of the Homestead act and were key recipients of land awarded through the program. @pranav23
I think the question had more to do with the intention of the Republican party through passing the Homestead Act, not a result of the Homestead Act
