how many points do you lose per grid in

Length was twelve. Why wouldn't it be fulfilling task w/o fulfilling an expectation? You don't lose any for grid-ins.

"what about the question with the ropes? where the mean was changed when you added a sixth length?"

I think that was the grid in with the answer of 12?

was it just me or did anyone else have any trouble with the vocabulary on the PSATs?

math was really easy.

noooo, it is. i defn put that. i gues si am referring to a different questino

tcuhna: No points are deducted for incorrect answers in the grid-in.

inferis: I agree. Math was pretty easy, but I had some trouble with a few of the sentence completions, which is what I expected...

Vocabular wasn't THAT bad. Just one Critical Reading problem that had esoteric vocab words left and right! Narcissism, or whatever, obsfucate...who SAYS that? 'Oh, so he was obsfucating...'

Math WAS really easy. Stupid, stupid mistakes. I should've spent more time to check those specific problems over. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah...having missed two, possibly three math (one of them a grid-in) it'll take a miracle to get national merit. Math was what I was counting on.

i put fulfilling the thing without fulfuilling the expectation. it doesn't say he doesn't like to paint or anything.

Well, from the specific questions brought up here (and some calculations of my own):
I think I missed 1 math (omitted 0)
1 CR (no specific question, but I'll allow for a stupid error; omitted 0)
3 writing (1 or 2 on here, another 1 or 2 for error; omitted 0)
That would mean a score of about 234.
Anyone else care to prognosticate your own score?

Math: Three grindings wrong
Critical: -4
Writing: -3

What is my final score?

I never skip questions, so...

Math - 2 wrong (barring further stupid mistakes; 1 problem solving, 1 grid-in; raw score 36 -> scaled 74? I hate the math curve)

Critical Reading - No idea. Anything between three and seven would make sense to me. It could be as low as a 70 and high as a 75?

Writing - No idea. Probably no more than four. I'd be surprised if I got anything more than four wrong...I think three's a fair guess.

for the third to last math grid, where we had to add the even numbers and odd numbers and then all the numbers...something like this:

x = sum of odd numbers 1-49 inclusive
y = sum of even numbers 2-50 inclusive
z = sum of all numbers 1-50 inclusive

what is x= y - z?

the problem went something like that, what did you guys get? I got 99 but i think it was wrong.

I got 99. I'm pretty sure it's right. I added them up on my calculator for good measure. Z was 1176. I figured that out both by thinking it over and, to check, on my calculator...so...yeah.

I got (0,-5) for the clockwise one. I don't get why everyone is talking about x and y-axis. It just said clockwise! Gaaaaaah!

those PSATs sucked
i mean i think most of the ones i actually answered were right, but i wasn't able to finish on the reading and some there were a few on one of the 3rd section that I just couldn't answer....
Anyone have problems with time managment? I read soooo slow!
i found the math fairly easy, but some of the CR and Writing was just too long for me to finish in such little time!
o well, still got junior year....

Math: Three grindings wrong
Critical: -4
Writing: -3

What is my final score?

Anybody?

Yeah, the problem with x + y - z was 99.

"I don't get why everyone is talking about x and y-axis. It just said clockwise! Gaaaaaah!"

Because the question said that the point was rotated and then "stopped at the x-axis." =P

why does everyone keep talking about that math problem? it gives us the point (something, -4) and asks when it hits the x-axis going clockwise what will be the pt? if you use the distance formula you should (-5,0)

Oh. Daaagahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhkfljreroiuj3!!(#$)*Q$R#$?!!!!! DIFO@@!~!!!

Sorry. Allow me to continue. GAARAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAa....I'm so mad at myself now...and disappointed...but more mad...AAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

I got the last question with the triangle and square wrong!!!!! If i miss 2 problems on all of the math questions, what should be my math score?

Well, on the collegeboard pamphlet, I believe it was a 74. Now, does that suck or what?
