OFFICIAL saturday PSAT discussion

what was the answer choice for the a=x+3 question does anyone remember? i remeber putting a D for that question but i forgot if that was a(a+6) or a(a+3).

I think I did something dumb- for the one about the Jackson administration I put C- "its" because it seemed like it was an ambiguous pronoun (could describe either government or Jackson administration) I think this is probably wrong but did anyone else get it by chance?

I believe I had no error for that one. Its refers back to the subject, the Jackson Administration...

I also put E. No error

I put E, no error.

For the angle question ("What angle CANNOT x be?"), did you guys put 122?

Pretty sure I put E for the Jackson admin also.

And I put 122...because the lines weren't parallel. If they were, it would be 122.

I put something about "loaning of the surplus" or "loaning from the surplus" for the Jackson question..it sounded like the wrong idiom, I don't remember what exactly it was though. That was a toughie.

Thats the right answer : you cannot simply "loan the surplus." You can loan money that comes from the surplus but not the surplus itself. That is the error. That sentence is almost certainly not a "no error" question.

actually, you can use the loans from the surplus just like you can take a loan from the bank...and not... a loan of the bank

how do u guys remember these ansers? they were yesterday...

yeah, but you don't "loan the bank"

loan the surplus would mean all of the surplus

when are schools supposed to send the answers in, the day of?

I ask because I'm wondering what I put for one the questions, and the counseling office is pretty friendly with me, so it probably wouldn't be a big deal for them to show me my answer sheet.

If it's Monday/Tuesday, then I won't have to wonder for 2 months :p.

it said loan from the surplus

I also put E for that one... hmm.

I put 'loan from the surplus' for that one...I seem to remember thinking it was some kind of verb tense irregularity??

Yeah, it was 'loans from the surplus to the states.' Or something like that.

So we get the results in december, and then we find out if we recieved any recognition in September of the following year?

If you get commended, it's in April; you find out if you're a semifinalist in...August? I think?

takes them long enough....
I mean it! It being NMSF!
