Congrats!! I am still waiting for the call.

What program are you in?

Hey congrats to everyone who got in!

I recently got into SEO as well. I will be participating in the Asset Management program, but have yet to be notified which partner firm I will be located. I am having some trouble finding housing especially since I am not too familiar with NYC.

Does anybody know any cheap apartments close to the financial district? Also, SEO sent a lot of information about hostels in an e-mail. I am not too familiar about them and I was wondering if anybody thought it would be a good idea to stay at one during my summer.

I don’t how I did it ! But I’m in for IT ! I think I have imposters syndrome I don’t feel like I did anything !

Anyways, I am native new yorker, been here all my life.
Congrats if ur in, and best part ur coming to NYC !

if you have questions about neigborhoods, transportation, travel times, or just the 5 boroughs in general ask away !

Oh PM’ing me would be better. but here is fine

The pricing for those dorms are ridiculous. But I would understand if you need to be on the safe side and take it. I have had success with the NYC craiglist before and I say just try it out. Look for the outer boroughs. The commute is totally doable, don’t be scared to look out of the city. I am a brooklyn native, but I’m going to live in NJ for cheap rent. (Look there too. Union city/jersey city) Talk on the phone with some people, they can be understanding if you pick the right ones and if you tell them your situation. Unless you are rich then by all means get them fancy dorms ! =D

Any response from SEO-U?

@Versii: I got my “waitlisted” decision today in my SEO-U Account! Here’s the exact information in the letter:

Thank you for applying to the Sponsors for Educational Opportunity Career Program. The Admission Committee has not yet made a final decision on your application at this time. Please know that based on your interview you are a very competitive applicant and are still in consideration for a summer internship position.

We also encourage you to continue your industry research and to keep current on industry news. We will continue review of your application in conjunction with the next round of applicants and you should be receiving notification from us soon. A further decision on your application will be made by the close of our final round notification in April 2011.

If your status with our partner firms has changed or you have a pending offer and need to receive a decision, please email interview@seo-usa.org.

We appreciate your patience and will contact you as soon as possible with updates on your application status.

I’m kinda disappointed with this letter since it looks like they didn’t read my application at all(how can we have the interview for SEO-U???). Anyway, good luck to your application.

Hey ghjk I applied for SEO U and I just got a waitlist too. Is it kinda weird that I didnt even get an interview and they waitlist me still? And in the letter its said “Please know that based on your interview you are a very competitive applicant and are still in consideration for a summer internship position” while I wasnt being interviewed at all? Could it be just a computer-generated letter? I’m pretty confused…

Hey everyone.

Was just wondering how I’d fair in applying 1st round to SEO for their 2012 summer program. I’d be a sophomore applying for IB with a 3.0 gpa. I attend a target school and am involved with the campus community service program(I hear SEO LOVES candidates who demonstrate campus community involvement…)

So anyway, thoughts?

Hello

I realize most of everyone in this group has already gone through everything in the process and its probably old chatting about it in this group to everyone, but I have my in-person interview this friday(in two days) for investment banking accounting. Can someone please tell me what it was like? what kind of questions did they ask? what I need to know please? its nerve racking

I would not say that a stock broker works in investment banking.

Was it easy to land your internship with Bill Nelson? I am a junior in high school and applying for an internship at his Orlando, FL office. How was it working at the office? Did you get a lot of networking opportunities? What were the expectations and objectives of the internship? You can email me if you wouldn’t mind, I would really like to hear what you have to say. Please email me at jasmine.bap@**********
