Official seo 2010-2011 thread!!!!

Has anyone been accepted to the program yet? I had my in-person interview this past week and I was wondering how long does it take for SEO to decide.

How long is the wait period for an interview notification? I applied Dec. 14 and have not heard back from them yet…

so the third interview means that i didnt qualify but its a second chance

lilahozi,

I applied mid Oct. and got a phone screen interview early Nov. (2-3 weeks).

I asked that same question during the information session in my school; they told me that it varies depending on the program you apply and whether you did SEO-U last summer.

What program did you apply to?
Good luck.

i applied to corporate financial leadership

i applied to IBD.

if they decide to pass on your app., will you at least get a rejection e-mail so you won’t be left hanging?

From what I remember, nobody gets rejection e-mails until March when they fill the entire class up.

ohh i have just read i was going to get mad…in the seo website it says some programs have a third or followup interview after the in-person interview and some programs have an assessment day. it all depends on the program…ok im safe lol…

Has anyone in IBD actually been accepted yet though?

I have the same question. Has anybody been accepted to the program yet?

Today I had my third interview. vanessa greaves and jill hart, the were both really nice… they told me i would hear something after mid january.

friend told me he knows of 1 offer extended to a student attending either OSU or OU for the IBD program. happened earlier last week.

Thanks for letting us know RVA.

Is anybody applying directly to SEO’s partners?

If so, how do we communicate SEO about our direct submissions?

they ask you where you are applying during the interview

Has anyone who applied to round 2 heard back yet? I’m worried about twiddling my thumbs until march only to get a rejection letter.

Anyone have experience with SEO-U?

Hey lookingtofuture,

I did SEO-U this summer. I completed the AM program.

Awesome, I’m just curious about the whole thing. I read the website but it’s a little vague. When do you apply and what is the application process like? And if you don’t mind could you tell me in detail about the program?

Program Details:

SEO-U is a summer program. There are several tools SEO provides(through SEO-U) to become a better candidate for their career program. The tools include:

Zoologic: Online training courses (The AM courses were extremely easy, but they are a great way to review financial theory and I like the fact that many courses are math-based courses.)

Stock track: it is a virtual stock portfolio competition (Very fun. You will be able to get an idea of the short term side of the market, but implies the use of excessive risk since it is only a 2 month competition.)

-Financial and Political Forums: you will be able to share your opinion on the markets and current events; this is very useful since you will be able to see the markets from different prespectives.

Webinars: In my opinion, THE BEST TOOL! I tought I knew everything about Asset Management, but the webinar tought me alot! (You can also find it in SEO’s webpage) other webinars covered, interviews, networking, how to read the WSJ, etc.

You will be able to choose your program when you apply; the only difference between programs is the zoologic training. There are two ways to get to SEO-U; first, apply as a freshman through the “applyyourself” application (you can access it through SEO’s webpage). The other way to get in is to get rejected from their career program as a sophomore.

Did you complete the program after your freshman year or sophomore? And does it help / has it helped you in admission to the career program?
